About the role

Curai Health Medical Group is a fully virtual primary care practice. We use AI to help our clinicians deliver fast, high-quality care to patients in multiple states. Our care team works together entirely online, and our Medical Assistants are key to making sure every patient’s care moves forward without gaps.

About the Medical Assistant Role

This is a remote, non-hands-on Medical Assistant role. You won’t do vitals, draw blood or room patients. You’ll use your Medical Assistant training to keep patient care moving behind the scenes: working with pharmacies, getting prior authorizations, coordinating referrals and making sure patients get the follow-up they need. If you know the clinical side and are great at the administrative work that keeps it running, this role is for you.

  • Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday ; 6:30a–5:00p PST; plus holiday rotation

What You'll Do

  • Pharmacy and prescription support: Work with pharmacies on refills, clarifications and transfers. Help clinicians with prescription workflows.
  • Prior authorizations and referrals: Prepare and submit prior authorizations (e.g., CoverMyMeds), track them until they’re resolved, and coordinate specialist referrals.
  • Scheduling and follow-up outreach: Schedule appointments and reach out to patients so care plans get completed.
  • Communicate with patients and colleagues in a caring, patient-centered way that keeps our virtual care environment supportive.
  • Document every task and communication accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Spot workflow problems and escalate them when needed.
  • Take part in team huddles and quality initiatives.
  • Follow HIPAA and confidentiality standards at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Active nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification (ie, CMA, RMA) required
  • 3+ years of medical assistant experience required
  • 1+ year of telemedicine experience required
  • Able to work a fixed Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday schedule, plus assigned rotating holidays that may fall on non-scheduled days required;
  • Openness to occasional weekend or swap coverage preferred
  • Self-directed and dependable as the primary MA on shift, owning the day’s patient queue and making sound decisions about when to escalate
  • A reliable teammate who communicates proactively, documents thoroughly for the next person on shift, and steps in to help cover when needed
  • Experienced with EHRs and healthcare tools such as CoverMyMeds and DocuSign, and quick to adopt new technology, including AI tools
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication, with a warm patient-facing manner
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy practices
  • A quiet, private workspace and reliable high-speed internet
