About the role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Adobe AEM Forms Developer (German) based in India.

We are looking for an experienced Adobe AEM Forms Developer to contribute to the modernization of a business-critical digital forms platform within the insurance sector. In this role, you will help replace an existing Java EE-based process engine with a modern, scalable, and maintainable architecture. You will design and develop backend services supporting digital forms, data prefilling, PDF generation, workflow processing, and system integrations. Working closely with technical teams, you will also oversee migration activities, automated testing, and deployment processes. Alongside platform modernization, you will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the existing Adobe AEM Forms environment. This is an opportunity to work on complex enterprise technology challenges in a fully remote environment.

Accountabilities

As an Adobe AEM Forms Developer, you will lead key development and modernization activities while contributing to the ongoing stability of the existing platform. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze existing Java EE (JEE) processes, system architectures, and technical dependencies.

  • Design and implement a modern architecture to replace the legacy JEE-based process engine.

  • Evaluate and implement suitable technologies and solutions, particularly AEM OSGi, Flowable, and standard AEM capabilities.

  • Develop core services for form processing, submissions, queue management, auditing, data prefilling, and PDF generation.

  • Design and implement integrations with CRM, Kafka, ECM, and other enterprise systems.

  • Build and enhance monitoring solutions, health checks, and technical dashboards.

  • Ensure the platform remains scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable.

  • Migrate existing forms and workflows to the modernized platform.

  • Develop and automate build and deployment pipelines using Jenkins and CI/CD practices.

  • Create and execute automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

  • Ensure stable parallel operations throughout the migration process and support the final go-live.

  • Gradually phase out the legacy JEE infrastructure while maintaining business continuity.

  • Produce technical documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer.

  • Maintain the existing Adobe AEM Forms environment, investigating incidents and resolving technical issues.

  • Manage failed form submissions and ensure their successful reprocessing.

  • Conduct regular system, security, and quality assessments.

  • Identify and address vulnerabilities using SonarQube, Qualys, and other security tools.

  • Install and validate Adobe hotfixes and service packs.

  • Coordinate operating system and infrastructure upgrades across Windows and Linux servers.

  • Perform performance optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements to system stability.

  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong Adobe AEM Forms expertise with extensive Java development experience and a solid understanding of enterprise application architecture. You should be comfortable working independently on complex modernization projects and supporting business-critical systems. Key qualifications include:

  • Several years of experience developing and technically operating Adobe Experience Manager (AEM Forms).

  • Strong knowledge of Java, Java EE (JEE), and OSGi.

  • Proven experience developing and integrating complex backend services and APIs.

  • Good understanding of REST APIs, messaging, and other enterprise integration technologies.

  • Experience migrating and modernizing existing enterprise applications.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and automated testing methodologies.

  • Experience operating and troubleshooting applications on Linux and Windows servers.

  • Solid understanding of IT security, system monitoring, and performance optimization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style.

  • Experience with Flowable, BPMN, or comparable workflow engines is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Adobe AEM Forms JEE and migration toward modern architectures is beneficial.

  • Experience with SonarQube, Qualys, and security scanning tools is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of PDF generation, dynamic forms, and data prefilling processes is desirable.

  • Experience with databases, messaging systems, and queue management technologies is a plus.

  • Previous experience in complex enterprise IT environments, ideally within insurance or financial services, is advantageous.

  • Professional proficiency in German is required.

  • Benefits:

  • 100% remote work: Work from anywhere, with a fully remote arrangement.

  • Permanent employment contract: Long-term professional opportunity.

  • Immediate availability: The position is open for an ASAP start.

  • Technical ownership: Contribute to the modernization of a business-critical enterprise platform.

  • Complex technical challenges: Work with Adobe AEM Forms, Java, OSGi, workflow engines, and enterprise integrations.

  • Modernization experience: Participate in a major architectural transformation, including migration, automation, and deployment.

  • Enterprise exposure: Gain experience working on critical digital solutions within the insurance sector.
