Trail Ridge Power (TRP) works with national commercial and industrial partners to create portfolio-wide energy transition solutions for their sustainability needs. We originate, design, develop, finance, own and operate renewable energy assets on a stand-alone basis but also in conjunction with energy efficiency technologies to help our partners reach their net-zero-carbon goals. These assets include solar PV generation, battery storage, fuel cells, building controls, and other cleantech offerings to provide on-premises or local generation solutions as well as a load control and curtailment. The Treasurer/Controller is a new role to oversee Trail Ridge Power’s accounting operations, financial planning and reporting activities. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this leadership position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in accounting applied in the renewable energy industry and growth companies.
You Will:
- Create and manage all accounting policies;
- Maintain and evolve the chart of accounts to match business practices;
- Manage outsourced accounting functions;
- Manage monthly close process;
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing/payment;
- Be responsible for corporate financial planning and analysis;
- Build upon, evolve and oversee all of the company’s treasury management functions;
- Monitor and comply with financial covenants;
- Prepare the company’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for investors, creditors and other stakeholders;
- Work closely with the VP of Finance and CFO on project finance and corporate fund-raising activities;
- Oversee the annual audit process and tax return preparation; and
- Be enthusiastically involved in other projects that a growing company in a rapidly changing world of energy transition requires.
You Bring:
- At least 10 years of in-depth experience with accounting practices and principles in renewable energy finance, including tax equity, debt, construction-in-progress, leases and multiple forms of revenue with varying credit quality;
- Management and supervisory experience with accounting teams while also performing accounting functions in a player-coach role;
- Zeal for pursuing new opportunities with financial integrity, using problem solving and creativity to find appropriate solutions for measurement and reporting;
- Innate curiosity to understand and question first principles to understand and characterize true risks;
- Strong financial planning, budget preparation and analysis, and financial statement presentation skills collaborating with cross-functional teams;
- First-hand experience setting up and evolving ERP systems, preferably Sage Intacct;
- Audit preparation and process management experience;
- Federal, state and local income, property and sales tax management experience;
- The highest personal and financial integrity to ensure trust with colleague, management, investors and other financial partners.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or equivalent (master's degree preferred); CPA preferred; and
