Do you want to make a difference to someone's life?
Do you think you could help people to reach their full potential?
Our role is to provide creative and sustainable support which enables people to live active and healthy lives in their local communities in ways that they choose. Our Core Values guide how we work and inform our decision making. As an organisation we are in a good place, we have a great team, and we are excited about our plans for the future.
We are currently looking for an exceptional individual to join us as a Travel Choices Coach at Surrey Choices. The successful candidate will work as part of the Travel Training team to assess children and young people with Special Educational Needs and also as part of the Disabilities (SEND) and Adults with Learning Disabilities for suitability to be travel trained to use public transport to travel independently. You will provide one to one and group travel training for identified children, young people and adults to help them achieve independent travel by bus, train, walking and cycling. The appointed candidate will provide Travel Training to students to help them travel safely, to build up their confidence to be more independent in their lives, as part of their transition into adulthood and employment
You will need to be a very well organised person with excellent communication and IT skills with the ability to work effectively in a variety of situations with conflicting priorities. This role means you may be working with students in the early mornings and late afternoons helping them to become independent travellers both to and from school/college so flexibility within your working day is essential. If you enjoy working with young people and have a real desire to make a difference to their lives, this could be the role for you.
We operate a hybrid approach whereby you will be required to work both in the community and from home as determined by service requirements.
What we would like from you:
A kind and caring approach to supporting people
