About Right To Be
Right To Be is a global, people-powered movement to build a world that is free of harassment and filled with humanity. We believe that it’s through small actions, happening everywhere, that culture can shift. Our work focuses on turning the care we have for each other into simple, creative, effective action. Every day, we train hundreds of people to respond to, intervene in, and heal from harassment. We hold space for people experiencing harassment to share their stories for affirmation and support. And we prepare new leaders to create workplaces, schools, and communities around the world that are filled with humanity. So that we can all be who we are, wherever we are.
Over the past two years, Right To Be has significantly expanded our training program - particularly in the realm of sexual harassment and bystander intervention training. Our system of evaluation shows that it’s working: Right To Be’s training shows an 84% increase in self-reported ability to intervene in instances of hate and harassment. This finding has been echoed by the National Women’s Law Center, which notes that, while traditional liability-based training on harassment is failing, innovations in the field, such as bystander training, are seeing results.
In 2021, Right To Be trained over 250,000 people to intervene in, respond to and prevent harassment. We continue to innovate in the field with new training to support communities experiencing harm, such as bystander intervention to stop islamophobia/anti-semitic hate and harassment. We have established meaningful partnerships with organizations such as Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC and L’Oreal Paris to bring our methodologies to participants around the globe, in over 33 countries and languages.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Training and Facilitation Specialists are responsible for:
Training and Customization (~60%)
- Training Delivery. You will facilitate interactive and engaging training from our suite of offerings, including bystander intervention training, preventing sexual harassment, resilience, conflict de-escalation, and others. Training sessions are currently delivered virtually and in-person. In our free public training series, you will need to effectively inspire longer term engagement with the organization, including getting people to join our email list, share their story, or donate.
- Client discovery and Training Customization. You will facilitate discussions with our amazing clients, enabling you to customize our existing training curricula to their needs. Thoughtful customization enhances learning outcomes and increases the likelihood that people will use what you teach them.
- Exceptional Customer Service. Our clients help to drive the work and the reach of our organization! You will be expected to work towards consistent positive client experiences by ensuring timely, responsive, and respectful communication and representing Right To Be values within client relationships.
- Soliciting Client Feedback and Celebrating Success. Trainers work to ensure our ongoing departmental progress by dispersing evaluations after every training engagement. This includes soliciting quotes or feedback to be utilized in future organizational efforts. That feedback is then consolidated into a training report that demonstrates the impact of the training -- and is distributed to all clients after the training is completed.

- Reporting and Analysis. Timely, complete, and accurate reporting is an important way we track departmental impact and performance. You will be responsible for reporting a variety of training-related metrics in accordance with organizational processes and practices. You will also support the development of new content area training, including participating in the review, feedback, and testing cycles in partnership with the Instructional Design and Innovation team.
- Expand your Expertise. We have over 40 curricula at Right To Be, and expect our trainers to be onboarded to at least 50% of them after 6 months of employment, and then to continue to onboard into at least one new curriculum per month. Each curriculum takes about 12 hours to onboard into. In addition, trainers are given time to pursue relevant professional development to develop and deepen subject matter expertise.
Team Engagement Other Activities (~20%)
- Participate in department and organizational meetings and retreats. Department meetings are weekly, and organizational meetings are 2x per month. We also have all staff retreats 2x per year that are mandatory.
