Position Overview: 

Verra Mobility is actively seeking a visionary Lead Hardware Engineer to join our team, championing innovation in hardware development. The ideal candidate will spearhead innovative hardware solutions, lead collaborations with 3rd party design firms, ensure seamless product and manufacturing integration, and provide strong leadership to engineering teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of technical programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines. TPMs are responsible for engineering program/project execution (plan, schedule, quality, budget, risk management, communication, etc.).
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize knowledge of embedded systems and hardware to guide technical discussions and decisions.
  • Visual Management: Create and maintain dashboards using Miro and other visualization tools to track program progress, milestones, and KPIs.
  • Agile Methodology: Implement Agile practices, manage Jira workflows, and facilitate scrum meetings.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks, develop risk mitigation plans, and implement strategies to minimize project impacts.
  • Third-Party Collaboration: Coordinate and manage interactions with third-party vendors and partners to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions.
  • Budget Planning: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Consistent Practices: Work with engineering leadership to establish consistent program/project management practices across engineering.
  • Continuous Improvement: Be familiar with Gemba, Kaizen, Problem Solving Report (PSR), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and other continuous improvement methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical program management, with a focus on embedded systems and hardware.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Miro for visual management, Jira for Agile project management, and creating interactive dashboards.
  • Project Management: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, risk management, and budget planning.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and develop actionable solutions.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with Gemba, Kaizen, Problem Solving Report (PSR), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and other continuous improvement methodologies.
