Systems Engineer

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, provides Cyber Security services and cutting-edge technologies to the Federal Government. SealingTech is looking for an experienced and talented Systems Engineer to help drive the development of a High-Performance Computing (HPC) solution.

The Security Enhanced Information Sharing (SEIS) mission area is looking for a motivated Systems Engineer. SEIS provides solutions that allow our government to securely share information. As part of our agile team, you will contribute to managing complex computer infrastructures containing hardware, operating systems, and application architectures.

As a Systems Engineer II, you should be able to understand, deploy, and maintain common infrastructure components such as DNS, LDAP, NTP, etc. You will be expected to support the deployment and operation of the infrastructure components and leverage them to meet specific customer requirements. You should have a solid level of understanding of virtualization, containerization, and other deployment methodologies.

The ideal candidate is expected to know some, but not all the following: Red Hat Linux, VMware ESXi operating systems, VMware vSphere, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, OpenStack virtualization, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker/Podman containerization, Ansible, Python, Terraform, Red Hat IdM, Web Servers (Apache, Nginx), and Databases. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• US Citizen
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
• 3-4 years of Systems Engineering experience
• Experience with MS Teams, JIRA, and SharePoint
• Experience with Linux System Administration including utilizing a command line interface
• Able to support the design, development, deployment, and documentation of a complex system, given a set of system level requirements
• Able to understand the impact of a single systems architecture on a larger infrastructure
• Experience with VM infrastructure (ESXi)
• Experience deploying and managing containers (Docker / Podman / Singularity)
• 2-3 years of experience with Python
• Experience with RHEL 7/8/9
• Experience with providing customer support
• Meets DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements
• The ability to work directly with a highly technical customer and provide great customer service
• The ability to successfully work with people with a variety of skill levels and backgrounds

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

• A working knowledge of other programming or scripting languages
• Knowledge of HPC
• Knowledge of OpenStack/OpenShift
• Knowledge of Ansible
• Knowledge of Terraform

Additional Responsibilities:

• Might be a Deputy Product Owner on a single project
• Provides limited technical assistance on sections of proposals
• Provides technical assistance for sales and marketing meetings, events, content creation, etc.
• Trusted to work with customers with supervision
