Survey Operations Analyst I

This role is in the Survey Operations department of YouGov's Scientific Research Group (SRG). Scientific Research is YouGov’s business unit responsible for fielding custom technology, academic, health, and public affairs research. This role would sit with the Operations unit that works with SRG’s cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge research for academics, health researchers, policy think tanks, and unique corporate clients. 

Responsibilities:

  • Programming complex surveys using an in-house scripting language based on Python
  • Setting up surveys for fielding in YouGov’s multiple markets and languages
  • Testing survey appearance and user experience on various web browsing platforms and devices
  • Monitoring, investigating, and reporting on data collection issues resulting from survey programming
  • Cleaning and preparing survey data deliverables

 

Qualifications:

We are looking for job candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Economics, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or similar fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
  • At least 1 year of programming experience in Python and/or R
  • Experience manipulating and summarizing large datasets with statistical packages and data management tools (e.g., R, Python, SPSS)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Results-driven focus and ability to see issues to completion in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills with internal clients, both written and oral
  • Ability to excel and work with cross-functional teams, all while working remotely
  • Nice to have, but not required:
    • Prior experience or training in survey research
    • Experience with terminal commands and Git

For roles based in California, New York, Colorado or Washington State, the base salary hiring range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000. Compensation offered will be determined by multiple factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation and additional benefits. All US based full time employees are eligible for the following benefits:
