Meet the team:
The Virtual Driver division of engineering develops safety critical software applications to enable autonomous hub-to-hub driving. We develop state of the art algorithms and models to perform tasks such as object and environment recognition, motion estimation, localization, scene modeling, actor prediction, behavioral policy, and trajectory generation.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as a software systems and safety subject matter expert within the division technical community
- Develop system concepts and architectures for safety relevant software
- Evaluate and decide on architectural tradeoffs through the software design process
- Connect software development with systems architecture and requirements
- Decompose systems architecture and technical safety requirements into software requirements
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the technologies and approaches used to build autonomous solutions
- Mentor other team members, growing the overall autonomy and systems engineering expertise of the team
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s in systems engineering, computer science, robotics, or related technical field. Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering or related field with preference for real world safety critical systems, automotive systems, aerospace systems, or robotic systems
- Experience with designing and developing software in accordance with quality, functional safety, and security standards (ASPICE, ISO 262626, ISO/SAE 21434)
- Domain Know-how of AD or Driver Assistance, incl. multimodal sensor configuration
- Broad understanding of engineering fundamentals in software, networking, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Experience in system level safety engineering and SOTIF practices
- Exposure to the usage of state-of art system design tools incl. requirements management (JAMA, DOORS NG) and architecture modelling (CAMEO, Rhapsody)
- Software engineering experience in vehicle safety critical systems
- Ability to build collaborative environments with teams both in person and virtually
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving software/hardware infrastructure
- A history of working across large teams and engineering organizations in a technical capacity is preferred
- Experience defining architecture for autonomous systems preferred
