Job Description

The Opportunity: 

Mattel, Inc., the largest toy company in the world, is seeking a Sr National Account Sales Manager to drive revenue and profitability by selling the most iconic toy brands in the industry to top retailers in the US.

The Sr National Account Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing our Strategic Account Plans for multiple categories. The role will require a deep understanding of the retail environment and how to align our portfolio of products with the account needs.

This position can be located remotely or in our El Segundo, CA office. The position will require periodic travel to customers and Mattel offices around the country.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

Deliver on planned business metrics including sales growth, margin and inventory targets for both Mattel and the customer.

  • Lead multi-year strategic planning leveraging omni brand vision and priorities
  • Gain share across accounts by leveraging data insights
  • Create game-changing solutions within a constantly evolving retail environment
  • Attend toy shows & previews and be knowledgeable of new product line architecture
  • Identify business opportunities with account(s) and work with internal partners to create customized plans to drive results
  • Conduct weekly buyer meetings and periodic Business Reviews to refine inventory forecasts and promotional planning
  • Lead internal discussions with Marketing and Retail Marketing teams to ensure strong retail execution
  • Create monthly forecasts and promotional planning documentation
  • Build relationships with account(s) buyers and internal partners
  • Directs planning activities to anticipate and meet customer product and service requirements
  • Develop and assess talent of direct report; provide training and mentoring


Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
  • Consumer Goods experience is imperative
  • Effective selling, negotiation and communication skills are keys for success
  • Goal-oriented mindset to drive to our numbers
  • Analytical horsepower with ability to use data to drive business decisions/recommendations
  • Function as One Team to deliver results
  • Ability to exert personal influence, build relationships with account(s), and collaborate effectively with functional teams and other key internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to make consistently sound judgments
  • People management experience
  • Minimum10 years’ related sales experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods, toys, entertainment or mass-market retailer
  • Trade Marketing experience, including category management, site merchandising, and promotional planning preferred

The annual base salary range for this position is between $123,000 and $178,000
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
