First things first! What is Twinkl? What is Twinkl’s mission?

Twinkl is here to “help those who teach.” It's what brings us to work every day. We're proud to create educational resources that can be used at each step of a child's learning journey.

Our award-winning resource collection - created by teachers for teachers - provides unlimited supplementary digital and printable teaching resources at an unbeatable value.

We have over one million resources, and new content is added daily. Don’t see what you need? Just ask! We make bespoke resources for our members as part of our world-class customer service promise to help those who teach.

We support educators and children across South Africa and around the world, and we’re committed to transforming lives through education.

Whoever you are, whatever you teach, Twinkl is here for you!

The Role

Are you a parent who is passionate about education? Are you ambitious and proactive about supporting parents across the country? Do you have experience in marketing or education? We’re looking for a dedicated person to join the Twinkl SA team!

You will be responsible for driving the growth of our parent segment through outreach marketing. You’ll connect the South African parent community with the Twinkl website via specified marketing channels (social media, email, blog, webinars, podcasts) that you will work on daily. You will highlight and demonstrate the benefits of our Twinkl products and support parents through those marketing channels and, in doing so, grow the parent market.

You’ll be joining a hard-working team of South African-based Twinkl team members with additional support from Twinkl HQ in the U.K.

You’ll be a key player within the SA team, making connections between our product and the parent community. You’ll be responsible for customer/revenue growth within the parent segment in South Africa.

You will be a confident and knowledgeable parent who can influence others with their expertise. You will be comfortable on camera/audio as you connect with your customers through live and prerecorded videos and podcasts. You will be commercially minded as you showcase our product by collaborating with external influencers across South Africa. Together you will empower fellow parents to be the best parents they can be by fulfilling their support and resource needs.

This role has lots of career progression potential! As your segment grows, so will the team around you. As you hit segment growth goals, you will add additional team members to your segment team to provide even more support for the customers you serve.

Responsibilities & Key Performance Indicators:

  • Build thriving social media communities for South African parents that hit specific growth, reach, and engagement targets each month.
  • Write and publish an engaging traffic-generating blog/video/podcast/webinar each week that is highly relevant to your segment and generates clicks to the Twinkl website.
  • Create an engaging weekly email (newsletter) for your segment that informs, empowers, and connects them to the Twinkl website.
  • Increase new customer subscriptions and hit specified revenue targets through the growth marketing actions outlined above.

This exciting, fast-paced role involves strategic planning and reactive work as you pivot and respond to your growing segment’s needs and demands.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will have the following skillset:

  • Minimum three years of either teaching or marketing experience in South Africa.
  • Be a parent.
  • Be able to provide solid job related references.
  • Social media savviness - Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn - you must love social media and feel confident running multiple channels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Up-to-date tech skills  - Google Suite, Google Classroom (or similar LMS), Canva.
  • A commercial thinker who is comfortable taking calculated risks and being held accountable for successes and failures.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and motivate those around them.

You’ll work closely with:

  • Wendy Pienaar - South African Country Manager (your line manager and mentor)
  • SA Marketing
  • Lots of other wonderful Twinklers across the business
  • Twinkl members!

We want to talk to you if you:

  • Care passionately about the parent community in South Africa.
  • Are a parent
  • Love social media and marketing.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where targets drive your actions.
  • Efficiently prioritise your workload so deadlines complete all tasks.
  • Are cheerful, optimistic, and thrive working within a close-knit team.

If you require a reasonable adjustment to the application/selection process to enable you to demonstrate your ability to perform the job requirements, please include this at the foot of your cover letter. This will help us understand any modifications needed to support you throughout our selection process.

In return for everything you can bring, we can offer you an exciting role in a fast-growing and dynamic business with plenty of career opportunities.

About the company

We're here to 'help those who teach'. It's what brings us to work every day.

So what exactly is Twinkl? Some describe us as a Digital Publisher, others, as an Education Partner (we used to be called an EdTech start-up). To be honest, we’re all these things and much more too. But the description we’re most proud of is the one our members use - “Twinkl is a life-saver”.

We're all inspired to support teachers and learners, around the world.

Twinkl began life in 2010 as a husband and wife start-up, working from a tiny back bedroom. Today, Twinkl is a truly global business, with members in nearly every country in the world. Our positive impact is driven by a community of passionate Twinklees, all inspired by the same mission - to help those who teach.
