This role is on the Developer Experience team within our Platform Infrastructure Pillar. We are the levers of productivity for all engineers building a platform that manages upwards of 1 trillion dollars in equity!
This is a collaborative and passionate group of professionals that includes technical product managers, program managers, and engineers united by the mission of reducing toil and creating leverage for all engineers across the company. We place a high premium on experimentation and validated learning and we focus on being value and mission-driven.
This team is not focused on a single technology or solution, while we do have main areas of expertise, we operate where the problems are. This means learning and using multiple technologies and getting the best out of each one.
You will help make the development experience amazing for our engineers as they move faster and more efficiently, from the moment they onboard to shipping services, products, with built-in observability. To provide an ideal developer experience, you will need to:
You will create impact across the entire engineering organization at Carta as a member of the Developer Experience team. This group will create leverage for all platform and product teams at Carta as well as driving adoption of technologies both adopted or created in-house. It is a highly collaborative role where you'll need to partner with leaders in several different areas. Your work will have a high impact on many teams at the same time, if not all. You will also help the organization on technical strategy and building alignment on objectives as well as growing your team.
You are customer focused and highly empathetic with significant background in architecting and designing systems, tools, and frameworks used by other engineers. You like to work in a fast paced environment, adapt to requirement changes and to use multiple technologies at once. You have a strong technical background and ability to communicate complex technical, logical, or process issues in a timely, concise, and objective manner. You can make an idea become a successful project, with documentation, automations and metrics. You also have the ability to make considered recommendations for trade-offs in a rapidly changing environment. You actively contribute to the larger organization’s culture and processes, working with your peers to create an innovative and supportive environment. You are kind, humble, and growth-minded.
Our team believes that interviews are a two-way process and we strive to make them enjoyable without any “gotchas.” The interview process starts with a call with a member of our warm, amazing recruiting team who will tell you more about the job and the company. Then, you’ll meet one of the leaders in the Platform organization who will walk you through the specifics of the position, the team structure, what we’re looking for, and of course, answer any questions you will have. This interview will last 45 minutes. Then, there’s a technical screen where you’ll be handed a technical exercise that is expected to be completed in a reasonable time but not take more than two hours. Finally, we will schedule you for another four to five meetings with other team members to discuss everything from coding and systems design to Carta’s culture and cross-team collaboration as well as what you can expect, and what is expected from you.
Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:
Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
