Software Engineer, Account and User Experience

The Account and User Experience team is a seasoned full stack development team owning and operating the entire account and user lifecycle across multiple products at InfluxData. This includes managing customer onboarding, user authentication and authorization, deactivation / cancellation and billing. We primarily use Golang and React, deploy to Google Cloud and On-Prem, and use a combination of Postgres and InfluxDB to store our data. As we continue to evolve our Cloud Serverless, Cloud Dedicated, and Clustered (On-Prem) products, we will be expanding our feature set and continue to build on our microservice architecture.

 

We're looking for a Software Engineer with full stack experience to join the Account and User Experience team.

 

What you’ll be doing
  • Adding new features and capabilities to the InfluxDB Cloud Serverless, Cloud Dedicated, and Clustered products
  • Building tools to empower InfluxDB Cloud operators and support staff to solve real-time customer issues without engineering involvement
  • Building out the billing mechanism for Cloud Dedicated and integrating with major cloud marketplaces
  • Building the licensing tools for InfluxDB Clustered 
  • Building the distributed audit log system for Cloud Dedicated
  • Implementing ABAC user Authorization for Cloud Dedicated and Serverless
  • Owning the delivery of large initiatives, engaging with stakeholders and subject matter experts to drive new product capabilities from whiteboard to production
  • Mentoring fellow teammates with pairing and code reviews
What we’re looking for
  • 4-6 years of professional engineering experience building and shipping multi-tenant cloud software
  • Experience designing, extending, and maintaining well-tested Golang production code
  • Experience with a modern frontend JS framework (React, Angular, Vue)
  • Experience working on teams with both internal and external stakeholders, and supporting enterprise businesses with strict SLAs
  • Working knowledge of Git (and GitHub)
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Bonus points if you have
  • Experience with any of Typescript, Elixir, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience working with remote and distributed development teams
  • Experience deploying on, and integrating with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.
  • Exposure to agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc).

 

Pay Transparency at InfluxData

InfluxData takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into two zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The offered starting salary will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Ranges are evaluated on a periodic basis and are subject to change at the Company’s discretion.

Zone 1 Range: $145,000-$168,000

Zone 2 Range: $120,000-$140,000
