Senior Verification Specialist

Company Description

Veremark is a remote-first HR tech scale-up on a mission to help the world trust faster.

We have started with background and reference checking, pioneering an entirely new approach through Verepass - a blockchain solution which facilitates instant verification by enabling candidates to own, manage, and share their securely-held and verified career credentials.

But this is just the beginning. Join us and become part of the journey using technology to help the world trust faster.

Job Description

Please note that candidates must be located in Australia to be considered for this position

Veremark's clients rely on us to verify data and authenticate information. As a member of the Service Delivery team, you will be responsible for carrying out this core activity.

Specialising in background verification, you will review identity documents and records, perform research, conduct investigations, and record your findings. Through this process of certifying identity and background information, you will facilitate people securing new employment, while helping to prevent misconduct such as identity theft.

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing searches and reports related to background screening, for example criminal history checks.
  • Overseeing Service Delivery operations for the ANZ region, including responsibility for check turnaround time (TAT).
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for the ANZ region.
  • Communicating with relevant government authorities where required, for example the ACIC and AFP.
  • Ensuring compliance in all activity, including with the various obligations that come with being an accredited body of the ACIC/AFP.
  • Working within guidelines to ensure minimal turnaround and high-quality results on background verification requests.
  • Ensuring thorough and accurate review of information from form responses, government records, and other documents.
  • Collaborating with a distributed team across different time zones.

Qualifications
  • Understanding of the ANZ background screening landscape, with experience in Australian criminal history checks (ACIC/AFP), including adverse disclosure handling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to write clearly and informatively.
  • Ability to manage relationships and communicate effectively with government bodies and external service providers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and process-orientation.
  • Ability to remain motivated to meet SLAs and deadlines while working in a remote setting.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a remote setting.
  • Passion for driving change and utilising critical thinking to provide creative solutions to obstacles.
  • Ability to learn new platforms, tools and applications.
  • Passion for servicing customer needs.
