The Challenge

The ultimate aim is to build a fantastic experience that meets the needs of our users. Of course, a significant part of the fun will be figuring out exactly what those user needs are, and testing ideas quickly.

The Team

You will report to the Head of Design, and sit across a small number of product teams and closely partner with embedded Product Designers and Product Managers. You will also get to work closely with other stakeholders across the business, such as Customer Success and our occupational psychologists.

Responsibilities

  • Inform our overall vision and strategy, working closely with the Head of Design
  • Facilitate the definition of research goals and the right approach, working closely with members from product management, engineering, and commercial
  • Discover, validate, and communicate real needs of users using a mix of qualitative user research (tactical and strategic) and quantitative data
  • Enable PDE teams to make user-informed decisions
  • Shape a research practice that’s tailored to our specific customers, end users, and company goals
  • Drive and perform ResearchOps activities, such as ensuring steady access to users
  • Build user-centred practices in new teams and help teams adopt and embed them into their Agile workflow
  • Enable Product Designers to conduct tactical research such as user testing semi-autonomously e.g. through advice, quality control and training
  • Actively engage and communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Know the HR industry, the competitive landscape and our company strategy

Requirements

  • You have experience with research for functional and complex web based digital products and services
  • You have experience conducting research with professional users including participant recruiting and methodology
  • You comfortably plan, execute, analyse and socialise tactical and strategic user research
  • You are an excellent communicator verbally and in writing. You can articulate user needs and how they drive design and experience requirements and can convince others of your reasoning 
  • You have strong analytical skills, producing actionable recommendations from user research
  • Your research can help solve specific product and design problems as well as inform journeys across an entire product, and you habitually consider how details fit into the end-to-end offering
  • You have a firm understanding of a user centred, iterative design thinking approach and are able to facilitate innovation projects with stakeholders of other functions
  • You have experience with ResearchOps in addition to practising research
  • You love working with colleagues to improve your and their skills, and the overall team’s ways of working
  • You thrive in a dynamic start-up environment
