Core Responsibilities:
Work closely with audio lead and game team to conceptualize, prototype, build, and maintain effective audio systems that support the experiential and narrative pillars of our gameProblem-solve and devise creative solutions to complex challenges that can arise within interactive audioEdit and implement a wide range of high-quality sound assetsCollaborate with external outsourcers while maintaining excellent standards of communicationPerform audio playtests, performance profiling, bug-fixing and optimizationContribute as a key stakeholder in designing and managing sound prioritization systems Our ideal candidate possesses:
5+ years experience as a Technical Sound Designer, preferably on high-quality multi-platform gamesExpertise with Unreal Engine (including Blueprint), Wwise, and other industry-standard audio technologiesStrong abilities with game audio concepts, workflows, and technical sound design best practices Experience creating and optimizing UE BlueprintsProficiency in visual programming and scripting languagesSolid understanding of spatial audio concepts in gaming and related technologiesExperience with HDR (high dynamic range) mixing techniquesA keen focus on product quality and supporting player clarity, feedback, and experienceProven capability in sound design and content creationAn inclusive, communicative, and collaborative mindset; we are a distributed development teamAdaptive growth mindset and a passion for solving complex problems with other peopleAdvanced profiling experience in middleware to identify and troubleshoot audio issuesBonus qualifications:
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining interactive music systemsExperience assessing and implementing in-game acoustics solutionsExperience working with outsource or contractorsExperience creating scripts for Reaper using Python or LuaExperience coding in C++ or C#Knowledge of 3rd party tools and add-ons used in AAA games Engine-native approaches such as UE MetasoundsStrong portfolio/reel that demonstrates relevant experience in technical sound design in gamesOur compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $90,000-$600,000
