Senior Technical Product Owner ~ Payments
The Senior Technical Product Owner plays a pivotal role in identifying high-impact opportunities to integrate across the company's product lines. Working closely with the development team, internal stakeholders, technical subject matter experts (SMEs), and functional teams, this position defines and manages the delivery of our product roadmap(s). The Senior Technical Product Owner possesses comprehensive experience across product management, Project Management Office (PMO) functions, customer engagement and support, design teams, and acts as a bridge between technical teams and commercial product owners. Proficiency in data analysis (using tools like Excel, SQL, and Splunk) and a solid understanding of backend architecture are essential. They excel in collaborating with highly technical teams and providing product requirements for backend APIs, UIs, and architecture. Moreover, they are adept at understanding platform aspects and have a successful track record of delivering global Software as a Service (SAAS) solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Strategize with multiple internal teams to define an efficient and adaptable roadmap.
- Define short, mid, and long-term direction of key products and services, emphasizing asset reuse and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and nonfunctional requirements (NFRs).
- Develop SMART business cases for ideas and drive prioritization backlog through regular stakeholder meetings.
- Collaborate with the development team to clarify requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Ensure prototypes align with existing and future feature requirements.
- Maintain clear communication and relationships with stakeholders and leads to ensure alignment on features, functionality, and deadlines.
- Provide guidance to the team for backlog management and prioritization of initiatives, epics, and user stories.
- Work cross-functionally with other Product Managers and departments to resolve dependencies and achieve larger product goals.
- Collaborate with UX and technical writers to facilitate communication, training, and end-user documentation.
- Identify, plan, and execute multi-functional efforts to expand product functionality and meet stakeholder needs.
- Utilize SQL and/or Splunk databases for data mining and reporting to define business and product requirements.
- Ensure transparency on results and planning through accurate and ideally automated reporting.
- Act as a mentor and coach for other technical product owners.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5-7+ years of relevant technical ownership experience.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage product backlog in a fast-paced, product-centric environment.
- Proven experience with global SAAS products/solutions.
- Technical proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL) and effective collaboration with highly technical teams.
- Comprehensive experience across product management, PMO functions, customer engagement, and serving as a liaison with key customers.
- Experience in self-directed data analysis across various domains (Product Usage, Customer Segmentation, P&L, Salesforce CRM, etc.).
- Understanding and management of a P&L statement.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in direct client engagement, including user forums, round tables, or customer outreach sessions.
- Ability to lead release activities from analysis through implementation.
- Capacity to plan for future strategy while maintaining the current delivery model.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
The expected base salary range for this position is $100,000- $120,000.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
