About the Role:

Reporting to the Director of NetOps, you will be working with a highly experienced team of engineers working on both long-term projects and day to day tasks within our Veeam environment. As one of the technical leads for the team, you will be expected to manage your own projects, communicate effectively and also be a technical resource for others in the team. You will be an empowered Engineer that will help drive the direction of technical solutions and ultimately the product.


Responsibilities: 

  • Design, implement, manage and monitor our customer facing Veeam environment
  • Administer, monitor and troubleshoot 500+ Veeam servers within our Hosted Service Providers (HSP) environment
  • Build, install, troubleshoot, and maintain server, networking, and storage systems in a multi-platform environment
  • Coordinate maintenance, replacement and repair of server, networking, storage, and supporting systems globally
  • Work closely with the Development Team on product builds, upgrades, deployments, and fixes
  • Responsible for configuring and troubleshooting routing within a multi-site datacenter
  • Responsible for local inventory, maintenance, and license management
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of published documentation such as operations manuals, rack diagrams and photos, floorplans, and contact information
  • You will be responsible for the automated deployment of all updates and upgrades for the monitoring solution
  • Work with the Technical Support team to manage corporate enterprise customers in providing quick resolution
  • Identify and develop new deployment tools where there are currently gaps in automation
  • Perform monthly Windows Patching
  • Act on alerts that are produced by the monitoring solution as well as escalations from other product teams
  • Responsible for fulfillment, update, resolution and closure of tickets assigned in the CyberFortress service request tracking system
  • Other tasks as assigned by management 
  • Manage and participate in 24x7 support and on-call rotation


Qualifications: 

  • Adhere to standards (e.g., naming conventions, system configuration, methods and practices, etc.) for server assets
  • Promote teamwork within the team and foster cooperation with other groups and departments
  • Prepare SLA's, policies, escalation and maintenance procedures for servers and related systems
  • Prepare project documentation, status reporting, policies, procedures and reports assigned by management
  • Demonstrate initiative and dedication as well as an ability to work independently once general direction is given
  • Communicate information through effective written and oral communication and presentations
  • Participate in change control and production control processes


Experience: 

  • Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA) Preferred
  • 10+ years' experience managing Windows servers
  • 10+ years' experience working in a DevOps/Sysadmin team
  • 7+ years hands-on hardware configuration experience in a multi-platform environment
  • (VMware, Widows Server and Linux) with at least 5+ years of System Administration experience
  • Experience working in a multi data centers environment
  • Experience working with Nimble Storage Platform
  • General routing proficiency, Static and Dynamic Routing
  • TCP/IP Good understanding of the OSI model
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to work in an agile environment
  • Understanding of Windows and Linux fundamentals.
  • Experience implementing Application monitoring solutions (Zabbix, Uptime Robot Site 24 x 7, etc.)
  • Experienced in writing scripts to perform various automations (Ruby, Perl, Python, MS Batch, MS PowerShell) is a plus
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills are required
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and capable of working on several projects and efforts simultaneously
  • Bachelor's in computer science degree Required or equivalent experience
