Overview:
Forefront Dermatology is a leading dermatology care provider committed to delivering outstanding service and support to our patients and our physicians. We are seeking a skilled and motivated systems engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in integrating and automating clinical systems, as well as streamlining system conversions. Responsibilities:
Clinical Systems Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement solutions for integrating various clinical systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
Automation: Develop and maintain automated workflows and processes to enhance the efficiency of clinical systems, reducing manual interventions and improving overall system performance.
System Conversions: Lead or support system conversion projects, including data migration, testing, and validation to ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to Forefront supported systems.
SQL Server Database Development: Design, optimize, and maintain SQL Server databases to support clinical applications, ensuring data accuracy, security, and scalability.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to clinical systems, offering timely resolutions and recommendations for improvement.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, automation workflows, and database schemas.
Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical teams, IT professionals, and vendors, to understand requirements and implement solutions effectively.
Compliance: Ensure that all clinical system integrations and automation processes comply with industry regulations and security standards, such as HIPAA.
Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with emerging healthcare technologies, industry best practices, and Forefront clinical system updates to make informed recommendations and drive innovation
Adherence to compliance and completion of compliance training.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience in systems engineering.
4+ years of experience providing operational support for clinical systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with clinical systems such as NextGen, Nextech, ModMed EMA is a strong plus.
Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server including stored procedure development and query optimization.
Knowledge of healthcare standards and regulations, such as HL7, FHIR, and HIPAA.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and integration tools (e.g., Mirth Connect) is required.
Mature understanding of DevOps in an Agile atmosphere.
Proven track record for integrating enterprise systems and creating API-driven architectures.
Skilled in operational best practices including building in observability and metrics.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Can function as part of an on-call rotation as required by the team and role.
