ABOUT THE ROLE
In the role of Senior Solution Engineer, you are leveraging your strong technical expertise to deliver superior experiences and innovative solutions for both potential customers and existing customers. We offer the opportunity to not only focus on winning the technical decision of customers to purchase and use our technology. You will technically advise on products, enabling the customer’s digital transformation by leveraging the power of industrial scale data analysis with Crate.io technology.
The Senior Solution Engineer explains, demonstrates, and proves the capabilities of our solutions and works with customers directly. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the presales cycle from a technical perspective while articulating the business value of CrateDB for the customer
- Assess and determine the technical fit of Crate.io's products to the customer's needs
- Handle critical client engagements, build strong relationships, identify customer needs, and align our resources to meet those needs
- Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, sizings, architecture design sessions as well as assist proof of concepts and pilots
- Translate technical concepts into business value for decision makers and executives
- Work closely with the Crate.io Sales team to drive revenue as well as through participation in trade shows, webinars, and account-based marketing events
- Act as technical account manager for key customers to ensure adoption and growth
- Directly interact with our Engineering teams as the voice of the customer to communicate needs, gaps, and enhancements
- An obsession with learning is required. We are constantly discovering how we can help customers in different ways
- Creative troubleshooting of issues that require solutions or innovative workarounds
- Proactively share practical knowledge with colleagues to drive the adoption of Crate.io solutions and seek for opportunities to support and mentor other team members and share standard methodologies
YOUR SKILLS
- A track record of success in a technical pre-sales role
- Proven experience with solution selling of databases, data management, or similarly deep technical products (cloud and database solutions preferred)
- Excellent presentations skills (verbal & written)
- Understanding of common big data architectures, as well as modern database technologies, including NoSQL (Elasticsearch/MongoDB/Cassandra or similar) and relational databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle/MySQL or similar)
- Previous experience in one or more modern scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.
- Fluent knowledge of English, German and other languages are a big advantage
- Open to occasional travelling for on-site workshops and representing CrateDB at exhibitions
- Strong team player, high empathy levels with excellent collaboration skills
- Comfortable thriving in an open, fast-paced, results-oriented environment
- This is a job that requires the extra effort when needed
- Working in the UTC and US timezone when needed to cover customers and clients
