The Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can lead and contribute to the development of our backend, frontend, and infrastructure that supports our gaming AI platform. You will work on the systems, game engines, and code that enables players and developers to write and execute agents within games. You will work on challenging problems in SDK design, game engine integration, AI infrastructure and interfaces, and the product that encapsulates it all into a seamless platform. We are looking for someone who is scrappy, able to dive into problems outside their comfort zone, and are hungry to build something they are proud of.

Responsibilities

• Developing game and AI software that integrates with engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine

• Designing, implementing, testing, and documenting systems that are both readable and scalable

• Work closely with the rest of the team to design and implement our backend, frontend, and infrastructure

• Inventing, extending, and maintaining development processes, tools, and workflows

• Creating a team culture that prides itself on excellence, innovation, trust, feedback, and respect

   

Requirements

• A love for gaming, esports, and AI

• Experience with designing and creating systems that require high scalability

• Experience with and enjoys creating prototypes and experimenting quickly

• Self-driven and willing to define their own tasks, eager to contribute to many different areas of development

• Able to lead a small team of developers and software engineers

• Experience shipping software projects that touch many parts of the overall tech stack

• You thrive in a fast paced environment where learning new information often changes everything

• You are not afraid to fail

   

Nice to haves

• Experience shipping a video game title as a backend developer, knowledgeable of the overall process for game development

• BS (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience

• Experience with documenting and implementing SDKs for developers

• Knowledgeable on recent AI gaming advancements, specifically in LLMs and RL

• Knowledgeable with low code and no code systems
