How You Fit In & the Details:

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be an integral part of the Engineering team, with a main focus on front end design and development for our products. As part of a small and dynamic team, you'll play a key part in building and supporting our products, and have a strong voice in decision-making processes. Your role will help to accelerate the digital transformation of supply chain & logistics companies around the world.

This role will report to our CTO and will partner with cross functional teammates in Data Analytics, Product, Sales, Marketing and Customer Experience. In addition to the above, you will:

● Design, build, and maintain backend web applications, APIs, platform services, and systems.

● Responsible for scalability, security, and reliability of our systems.

● Work with the product management team in the development cycle from start to finish — from scoping work to measuring project success and planning new iterations based on results.

● Conduct code reviews, communicate thoughtfully and effectively with colleagues.

● Provide thought leadership, mentorship, and guidance, and partner closely with other engineers on development best-practices, user facing features, API user experience, and platform services.

● Balance development speed and quality, with a focus on real, deliverable results.

Basic Qualifications:

● 5+ years of experience writing software with a strong engineering background

● Proficiency in front-end and back-end development using modern frameworks like React, Javascript, and Node.js (we use TypeScript, applications usually run on Next.js)

● Experience building UIs using headless libraries, Tailwind for styling

● Proficient with SQL, database design and management, and some experience with data processing & analysis

● DevOps and CI/CD experience (AWS, Docker, serverless architecture, etc.)

● Experience designing & maintaining backend services & systems, user-facing APIs at scale

● Organized and self-sufficient, with prior startup experience preferred

● Strong experience with web automation (Puppeteer, Selenium, etc)

● Proven track record of building and scaling web applications in a production environment.

● Familiarity with security best practices in web development and cloud environments.

● Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the stack.

● Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

● Mentorship experience, guiding junior developers and contributing to team growth.

$165,000 - $185,000 a year

Perks & Benefits:

● We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of: $165,000 to $185,000 . Vizion intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience and location.
