We are growing our team and seeking an entrepreneurial and multidisciplinary designer who will work with our Rewiring Communities team to design an experience from scratch to support electrification projects for homeowners in low income and historically disadvantaged communities. This is a unique and important opportunity to build products and services that ensure that the electrification transition happens equitably. This position reports to the Head of Product.
You will work closely with a cross-functional team at Rewiring America that is engaging directly with communities on the ground to understand the barriers that households face and to design products and services that can overcome these barriers at scale. These solutions will need to be deeply grounded in knowledge of homeowners and communities, and will likely require multiple rounds of prototyping and iteration to get right. The end goal is to craft products and services that can facilitate bringing financial resources into these communities and support electrification that can scale to historically disadvantaged communities across the country. This will require a wide variety of work, from user research and discovery to prototyping to product strategy to perhaps some front-end development for the right candidate.

The Senior Product & Experience Designer joins a team that operates with a sense of urgency and a track record of success across the fields of science, technology, business, policy, and politics. This role will bring to the table strong builder energy, design process to accelerate the work, and a relentless focus on the user.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000 USD, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 160 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year (15 days during Presidential and Congressional elections). We have an office closure between Christmas and New Year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment. Regular, full-time employees and part-time employees are eligible to take up to sixteen weeks of parental leave, in all cases related to birth, adoption, or foster care starting from the first day of employment.
