Senior Network Security Engineer

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) in maintaining its information technology (IT) enterprise infrastructure. This individual will have a background in Dev Ops concepts.

Remote role. Must be local to the DC Metro area.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect our computer networks and systems.
• Design and implement security measures to protect computer networks and systems.
• Deploy and configure firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security appliances.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
• Stay updated on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct security awareness training for employees.
• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and conduct log analysis.
• Implement and manage security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Conduct security audits to assess compliance with internal and external security standards.
• Provide documentation and reports for audits and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship and must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and 8 years' experience or Master's degree and 6 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years relevant experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Network Security with infrastructure and software.
• Experience designing, engineering, and designing solutions with a security mindset.
• Ability and readiness to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills required.
• Must have strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with major cloud providers mandatory.
• Possess superior technical aptitude and effective written and verbal communications skills.
• Proven experience with managing and using Dev Ops concepts.
• CCIE/CCNP Security Certification required. Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
