Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Mobile Developer to joing our Peraton Team.

This position will allow 100% teleworking. This is an opportunity to utilize innovative technology approaches to expand its reach and implement interventions to reduce suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Technology-based solutions can enhance crisis care by offering multiple modes of screening and immediate support to Veterans via mobile apps, smart responder/bot systems, self-service websites, and online therapies with clinicians.

Technological developments offer new opportunities in suicide prevention and the potential to reduce the number of deaths by suicide. Understanding suicide risk factors, creating algorithms that can contextualize and flag the risk will improve the ability to pro-actively identify suicide risk and intervene before a crisis occurs, and inform opportunities to design innovative technical solutions to suicide prevention.

Responsibilities include:

• Design and build applications for the iOS platform.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products.
• Prioritizes and allocates projects, products, and resources with the assistance of architects and managers.
• Participates in the strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of the software products.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of a multi-team or cross-functional organization.
• Directs software development projects to include, ensuring that projects are completed on time and according to quality standards, facilitating communication upward and across project team including project status, justifications for variances and technical information.
• Organizes projects through development of a project plan which includes communication of product goals as defined by top management, definition of project strategy, identification of the roles and responsibilities of key project groups, development of a schedule with key milestones, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of project resources.
• Monitors technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.
• Provides expertise and direction in the development and/or modification of Mobile-based scientific, technical, and business software systems.
• Uses expertise to design develop, code, test, and debug software.
• May work in one or several areas, such as equipment or software design, engineering evaluation or test, configuration management procedures, statistical analysis and modeling.
• Works with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives.
• Provides analytical support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
• Plans and schedules new applications systems projects with user, systems software, and computer center operations personnel, including the identification of objectives, time frames, costs, and manpower requirements.
• Performs tasks necessary to ensure the identification and documentation of hazards within software systems using various analysis tools and techniques.
• Reviews and evaluates systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software safety and systems safety. Confirms design mitigations are captured in the design and its documentation and verifies implementation.
• May perform as a project lead with the responsibility for the instruction, assigning, direction, and monitoring of the performance of assigned systems developers / analyst working on a specific project.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• HS 12- 14 years of experience, Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 8 - 10 yrs of experience, or a Master's with 6 - 8 yrs of experience.
• iOS mobile development (8-10 years preferred)
• Ability to obtain TP4 level clearance (Public Trust Clearance)
Skills include:

• Proficient with Swift/SwiftUI Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data/Swift Data, Combine, etc.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services.
• Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
• Understanding of Apple's design principles and interface guidelines
• Experience with performance and memory tuning.
• Proficient with agile development methodology
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
• Knack for benchmarking and optimization.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
• Proficient with continuous integration.
• Highly Desirable - Cross platform development environments such as Flutter, React Native, etc.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
