The Senior Director, Pharmacy plays a pivotal role in advancing WelbeHealth’s mission of providing comprehensive, per-centered care to our participants. The Senior Director, Pharmacy provides leadership and guidance for WelbeHealth’s various population health related goals to achieve continuous improvement. The Senior Director, Pharmacy is a member of Medical Practice and works closely with the Provider team on matters related to medication optimization, safety, and compliance, and delivers necessary trainings and consultative services on best practices as necessary. The Senior Director, Pharmacy is a member of the WelbeHealth leadership team and partners with the Regulatory Compliance team in Medicare Part D oversight and collaborates with all stakeholders to promote the WelbeHealth values, team culture and mission.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide strategic leadership to the pharmacy department, setting clear goals and objectives aligned with the organization's mission and values.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations, including staffing, budgeting, inventory management, vendor management and regulatory compliance.
- Oversight of contracted pharmacy comprehensive participant medication reviews and assessments to identify high-risk participants.
- Establishes and oversees drug management program.
- Monitors and analyzes provider and participant drug utilization patterns and produces utilization and clinical quality reports.
- Serves as the Clinical Pharmacy subject matter expert and supports the plan in Part D report interpretation and makes recommendations for areas of focus to monitor.
- Serves as pharmacy quality improvement educator and training resource to providers and participants.
- Collaborates with the Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) on the implementation of clinical programs, reporting and analyses to assist with Medicare Part D oversight.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and guidance.
- Manage direct reports including hiring, training, supervising, and mentoring.
- Ability to travel, be onsite for implementations of new markets, and cover nationally as WelbeHealth continues to expand.
Job Requirements:
- Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution
- Licensed by State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist within all states that WelbeHealth has active centers
- Minimum of five years’ experience at managed care organization or Health Plan.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience as a clinical pharmacist required.
- Medicare Part D experience preferred.
- Experience with Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
- Two years’ supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Experience leading in a data-driven organization, leveraging reports and data to prioritize and manage people and projects.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Salary/Wage base range for this role is $224,900 - $237,100 + Bonus + Equity. WelbeHealth offers competitive total rewards package that includes, 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other qualifications.
