The Experience Practice is a matrixed team of 60+ practitioners, united by user-centered principles, who specialize in disciplines ranging from UX research and design to content strategy and digital performance analytics. This role will be based in the Washington DC area as a hybrid position assigned to ICF’s Reston, VA headquarters office. Remote candidates with strong qualifications and experience will be considered.
Responsibilities:
This role seeks a seasoned leader, consultant, and proven strategist well-versed in successfully integrating human-centered design practices into Agile product design and development. You will collaborate across ICF, supporting the growth and delivery efforts of multiple business lines, while expanding and developing ICF’s digital-experience capabilities. We are looking for the best of the best with a unique blend of talent, experience, expertise and ingenuity. Voracious curiosity and critical thinking required, and lifelong learners preferred.
As a Senior Director of Digital Experience, you will:
Advise and provide strategic insights to clients to improve product design and user experience at every stage in the product lifecycle.
Consult with project teams at critical cross-roads (project initiation, course-correction, capture for option year and future work) to solve challenges and drive pragmatic innovation
Consult with internal leaders on the most effective team topologies to infuse Experience Practice capabilities (e.g. UX research and design) into Agile software delivery teams.
Manage a team of 60+ Experience Practice team members, developing the team’s technical skills, collaborative behaviors, and consulting soft skills to drive both efficiency and effectiveness for product delivery teams.
Facilitate high-impact meetings and workshops that draw from HCD methodologies to understand and drive action to solve complex business challenges.
Research the latest trends impacting citizen services, acquisition trends, modernization program design, and customer experience in the federal government context
Contribute to business development by leading and supporting capture and proposal efforts
Provide thought leadership by contributing content to ICF Next blogs, whitepapers, and at conferences
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years’ experience in a strategic role related to product or service design and technology
15+ years' overall related work experience within digital experience and modernization
5+ years in a supervisory role with experience managing senior managers.
5+ years experience supporting the Capture Process for federal opportunities, from opportunity identification, positioning and qualification through proposal development and opportunity closing.
5+ years experience driving proposal development for federal opportunities, including proposal coordination, writing, and reviewing for the technical approach, management and staffing, and business volume.
5+ years experience supporting Federal Civilian agency contracts and success across various customer domains within the federal government.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a public trust
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience leading UX research and design for a large, successful IT modernization program.
Experience defining, growing, and selling UX design and research capabilities as a differentiator in the federal market
Successful experience supporting orals and coding challenge (i.e. tech challenge) teams competing for federal contracts.
Resourceful and self-starter — ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of individuals, both internally and externally.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$149,755.00 - $254,584.00
