Senior Designer

About the Job:

We are looking for a talented senior visual designer with agency or in-house design team experience. You have crafted imaginative advertising campaigns, defined design systems, created optimized web experiences, and collaborated with talented content owners. Come join our distributed team of creatives and help us build a fun, fresh and memorable brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop promotional campaigns - Work closely with our Product Marketing, Demand Generation and Content teams to develop and design campaigns to promote LaunchDarkly the company, build our brand as well as promoting our products.

  • Evolve our design system - From icons, typography and color palette to illustration and photography, you will know how the pieces come together and why. Enforce design standards, curate asset libraries and enforce brand integrity. 

  • Support internal partners - through clear guidelines, assets and creative problem solving. This can include both internal and external initiatives like events, product launches, training and company culture.

  • Design and optimize web experiences - work within and further develop our desktop and mobile design systems. Use data driven designs optimize our user experience and improve CRO.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of working as part of design teams at creative agencies or in-house 

  • Strong portfolio with examples of advertising campaigns, design systems and web layout.

  • Strong illustrative skills that will be used for conceptual blog graphics, animation storyboards, presentations, and more.

  • Figma expertise. This is the tool we use for majority of our design work. You’re also proficient in Adobe tools, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Yes, presentation tools like Keynote, Google Slides and PPT will be used.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups and defend your design decisions. 

  • Prior experience working in the technology industry is a plus. You enjoy learning about new technologies and are able to collaborate with Product Marketers as well as Product Managers and  Engineers.

  • Understanding of business goals, product roadmaps and user insights to translate into clear design priorities. 

  • Knowledge of the latest design and technology trends across web, desktop, and mobile platforms, and adopt modern techniques as appropriate.

  • Ability to uphold responsiveness and collaboration in a remote environment. You are an organized self starter with strong communication skills. Being part of a distributed team requires proactive communication and sometimes even oversharing.

Pay:

Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 4:

  • Zone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or New York City Metropolitan Area (if not Bay area specific role): $138k - $162k**

  • Zone 2: Boston, DC, Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Seattle: $124k - $146k**

  • Zone 3: All other US locations: $117k - $138k**

LaunchDarkly operates from a place of high trust and transparency; we are happy to state the pay range for our open roles to best align with your needs. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

*Within the United States, our geographic pay zones are defined by counties surrounding major metropolitan areas.
**Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits in addition to salary.
