Senior Data Engineer

pureIntegration, a technology consulting firm with 19+ years of experience servicing Fortune 100 clients, is seeking a Data Engineer with strong hands-on Snowflake and AWS experience. 

Location: Remote
Work Arrangement: W2 Hourly or 1099 Contractor. Position is for 3+ months with a high possibility of extension.
Work Authorization: EAD, Green Cared or USCIT only (We will not sponsor H1B Work Authorization for this position, or work in a C2C relationship). 

In this position, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in our team designing and building new strategies and capabilities to enable unified billing in a large enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in data architecture as part of a software project, schema design, data enrichment, profiling, and cleansing, as well as in examining existing data environments to determine how to best leverage existing resources.

The technology stack that you’ll be working with includes AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Lambda, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Using data architecture and engineering experience, drive design meetings with customer counterparts to design end-to-end data flow to support new billing capabilities.
• Develop subject matter expertise in the business rules needed to drive data transformations necessary to support this logic.
• Compare/reconcile data across multiple sources and enrich systems to understand and design transformations.
• Use a combination of open-source, commercial, and AWS capabilities to design a data architecture that both meets system design and performance requirements, but also does so with long-term cost in mind.
• Work within a team of software, AWS, and DevOps engineers to design, build, and test data-centric applications and their user-facing capabilities.
• Work in a team utilizing Agile methodologies, building and maintaining project backlog to enable the data and software architecture, driving user stories, and enabling other engineering team members to be part of the build of new capabilities.
• Conduct data profiling, analysis, research, and planning to present data quality issues and root cause analysis to key project stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership both within the project team as well as guidance and knowledge transfer to our end clients.

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Equivalent
• At least 10 years experience as a Data Architect or Engineer, with demonstratable experience in leading the design of new data architectures from understanding source systems through data transformation and output.
• 2+ years demonstratable experience in working with Snowflake-based data architectures.
• Experience in AWS-based data architectures, including technologies such as step functions, Lambda, Managed Airflow, S3, Dynamo DB, DataSync, dbt, etc
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Experience in preparing data discovery findings and solution architectures, as well as the ability to navigate and present to stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with the software development life cycle best practices
• Experience with functional languages such as Python, Go, etc.
• A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code and data quality that follows best practices.
• A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Ability to see the big picture
