Senior Data Engineer Ad

The NSPCC is looking for an experienced data engineer to join the recently established Technology and Data directorate (TDD). The TDD manages all the technology across the NSPCC, and as a senior data engineer you'll be at the heart - building solutions to support the society's fundraising efforts as well as supporting its front-line services.

In this role you, with the help of your colleagues, will develop products and tools to help the organisation answer the following questions;

How can we better understand and help the people that use our services?
How can we better engage and grow our supporter base?
How can we make our existing processes better for our staff and volunteers?

You'll sit in the Data and Analytics hub working with ~20 data analysts, engineers, governance officers and scientists all working to make the NSPCC a leading data-driven organisation. In the role you'll draw from your professional background to design and deliver data products that benefit the rest of the society. You will be able to act as a senior technical expert in all aspects of delivery and provide mentorship to other data engineers in the department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any established senior data engineers looking to make a difference, or for data engineers looking to take the next step in their career.

Key responsibilities

Programming and Building - You can design, write and iterate a solution from prototype to production. You have a solid understanding of clean development practices and have a history of developing maintainable solutions.
Designing and analysing - You can work with business stakeholders and non-technical people to produce robust solutions whilst tempering expectations
Mentoring and Guiding - You can leverage your knowledge to help other members of the Data and Analytics hub on their professional journeys, whilst staying up to date on emerging technologies that could benefit the entire society.
