As Senior Benefits Specialist within our Human Resources organization, you will be a key member of our benefits team. You will act as day-to-day administrator of Anthology’s global  and international employee benefit programs, including health and wellness, income protection, retirement, leave of absence, and other related programs. You will work in partnership with the Director, Benefits to ensure compliance with national and local legal requirements. You will serve as the HR team’s benefits representative for the supported regions, answering questions, advocating on behalf of employees, and counseling employees on the various types of coverages offered at Anthology.  As Senior Benefits Specialist, you will assist in the development and implementation of benefit plans with respect to program enhancements and cost controls and will develop and produce key benefit data analysis.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day administration of global and international benefits including, but not limited to, health (medical, dental, vision), group life, income protection, pension, paid time off, leave of absence programs, and statutory programs
  • Overseeing day-to-day relationship with benefit brokers and benefits carriers
  • Serving as first point-of-contact and support for global employees for questions regarding Anthology’s benefit programs
  • Collaborating with the HR Business Partner and the HR Shared Services teams to support employee benefits needs
  • Collaborating with the Director, Benefits for annual renewals, enrollments and employee wellness initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with new benefit plan implementations, preparing communications, and supporting US annual enrollment
  • Participating in and actively contributing to benefit plan design and annual benefit plan renewal discussions with internal resources and external consultants and vendors
  • Reviewing invoices from carriers for accuracy, and sending approved invoices to Accounts Payable for payment
  • Ensuring data and enrollment accuracy with various carriers and vendors
  • Working with the recruiting and onboarding teams to ensure new hire benefit information is appropriately communicated
  • Assisting with benefit transitions associated with mergers, acquisitions, and divestures
  • Staying current on laws, regulations, and plan design trends, ensuring that the organization’s policies and programs conform and are competitive and compliant
  • Being accountable for accurate and timely benefits program administration. Ensuring that benefits programs are administered in compliance with the established policies, programs, and practices
  • Providing assistance to our Compensation team related to benchmarking compensation, conducting job analyses for job grade, and ensuring local compliance
  • Preparing and maintaining regular and ad hoc reports on benefits plans
  • Creating and preparing Invoices for various benefit carriers

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEFR B2 level or above 
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent tertiary education, with analytical coursework
  • Excellent technical knowledge of benefits and compensation functional areas
  • 5-8 years of experience in benefits administration
  • Working knowledge of international benefit programs and leave compliance
  • Strong analytic, planning, time management, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Solid business understanding or ability and willingness to learn quickly
  • High level of maturity and composure in dealing with challenging and confidential situations
  • Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and multi-task in a highly dynamic environment
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision on complex projects
  • High quality customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically adept with Excel

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Experience working with Cloud Based HRIS (UKG preferred)
  • Prior compensation experience
  • Prior experience supporting benefit and leave programs in India, Europe (namely Czech Republic) and South America (namely Colombia and Brazil) geographies
