Senior Backend Engineer/Architect

We are a Polish start-up operating within the Żabka Group since 2021. We operate in the e-commerce industry, which is one of the fastest growing sectors. It enables easy and convenient commercial transactions without having to leave home. To date, we are the creators of two products on the Polish market. One is the Jush app, which allows you to do your shopping in as little as 15 minutes, and the delio app available, also in a browser version, where you can adjust the delivery time of products to your needs. At Lite e-Commerce, we create cutting-edge technology to make your life easier. 

We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer/Architect to be part of Lite's heroes and heroines on a mission to technologically advance the world!

Responsibilities:

• Shape the future of our backend ecosystem by designing and implementing complex, scalable microservices using Node.js;
• Handle exponentially growing traffic to our platform, ensuring system scalability and performance;
• Be part of the new trend of Q-commerce, applying your knowledge and experience in building large-scale, complex IT solutions;
• Optimize and automate processes wherever possible, always striving for efficiency and quality;

 ✅ Must Have:

• 7+ years of professional experience in a similar position, with a background in backend development using Node.js and experience as an IT architect;
• Proficient with modern software development (NodeJS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Git) and Typescript;
• Comfortable with microservice architecture, having previously designed and implemented services using this architecture;
• Solid understanding of performance implications and scalability of code, with experience in ensuring the scalability and performance of large, complex systems;
• Keenness for writing high quality (not just high quantity) tests, with a TDD or BDD approach;
• A proactive approach to solving problems, taking ownership of issues and working towards solutions;
• Communicative and eager to discuss and impact decisions, demonstrating excellent communication skills and ability to work in multifunctional teams;
• Comfortable with integrating different solutions, showing flexibility and adaptability;
• Not afraid of new technologies nor responsibilities, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt;
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, necessary for communication in international team environment;

Additionally, it would be great if you had:

• Previous E-Commerce experience is a huge plus;
• Experience with Kubernetes is highly desirable;
• Experience/understanding of CI/CD;
• Knowledge of cloud tech, especially GCP;
• Familiarity with monitoring & alerting tools (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus, Alert Manager, Sentry);
• Knowledge of Terraform;
• Any relevant certifications, such as Certified Node.js Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified;
• Professional Cloud Architect, would be a significant advantage.

• Salary depending on experience: 24 000 PLN - 30 000 PLN net;
• no fixed working hours (except calls and stand-up);
• 90% of the work is now feature and 10% of the work is maintenance/bug fixing;
