Senior Art Director

WHO WE ARE

Hook is a Creative Production Agency. With a collaborative, maker-centric team, and an emphasis on production-led design, we develop creative campaigns, short-form content, and websites for well known brands.

Our mission is to integrate creative and production to help grow brands faster. But we believe what’s most important are the people who work with us and the experience they have along the way. We want clients to think of us as the best agency they’ve ever worked with, and we want everyone at Hook to feel like this is the best job they’ve had yet.

And so, Hook is organized around the idea that small, diverse and autonomous teams create better work—and a better work experience. At around 20 people each, our pod-like teams are built with a mix of designers, writers, producers, animators, and technologists. Individuals at all levels and from all backgrounds, all empowered to connect with the client and make the creative challenge their own.

WHAT’S A SENIOR ART DIRECTOR AT HOOK?

Senior Art Directors aim to directly solve client marketing challenges through an emphasis on art and design tool sets. Regardless of output medium, their core responsibilities center around insightful and effective concept development, brand/product messaging, presentation, and detail-oriented asset production.

A great Senior Art Director is an experienced and articulate advertising design leader that’s capable of autonomously helping a client through the creative process with great success. They are beginning to balance hands-on control of campaign work with an authority and inspiring influence over many. They intelligently lead projects through all phases of development, from research and pitching to production and delivery — acting as a skilled interface between client needs and production capabilities, ultimately working to ensure the success of all work they touch — whether delegating or directly completing.

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with relevant client contacts, becoming an expert on brand culture, products, preferences, and expectations.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with Design, Motion, and Production staff, ensuring that concepts meet the requirements of all departments.
  • Lead client-facing conversations focused on the development of campaign messaging and assets.
  • Elevate overall work quality by setting high standards and articulating ambitious creative opportunities (without sacrificing baseline deliverable requirements).
  • Maintain and promote an internal awareness of industry design trends and standards with a strong focus on processes and tools.
  • Mentor and support junior staff toward the goal of accelerating skill progression through a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote a positive creative culture through teamwork and leading by example

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
