Retail Technology Support New Store Opening

Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Retail Technology Support – New Store Opening, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of technology deployment and configuration for new store openings within our organization. You collaborate closely with various teams to ensure seamless integration of applications and systems, adhering to company standards and policies. You are planning, coordinating, and executing a delivery plan to support successful store openings while providing technical support during the transition period.

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Retail Technology team supports our retail stores and business and interacts with our Store employees and guests to ensure retail technology services are running effectively. This team partners with our retail business teams to generate new ideas and technology that benefits our stores. Our mission is to provide beautiful and high-quality tools that focuses on accessibility, flexibility, scalability, and sustainability to service our product guides whenever and wherever they are.

If you were in the role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for new store openings
  • Execute the detailed project plan for setup and configuration using an existing template and deployment, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines
  • Procure necessary IT equipment, software, and licenses required for new store setups
  • Configure and install IT infrastructure including network devices, POS systems, and other hardware as per company standards
  • Set up and configure software applications, ensuring compatibility and integration with existing systems
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure timely delivery and installation of IT components
  • Conduct thorough testing of IT systems to identify and resolve any issues prior to store opening
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during the store opening phase in hyper-care mode
  • Document IT setup processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and security standards throughout the new store opening process
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to IT setup procedures based on lessons learned from previous deployments
  • Providing technical support for all Arc’teryx Retail users and systems
  • Performing new user set-up for the windows and IOS systems
  • Performing functional and user system testing on new hardware and software products


Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
  • Testing and supporting the new technology and services coming to our retail stores
  • Identifying the root cause of our Retail IT issues and suggesting proper solutions
  • Assisting with Retail Technology Projects and deployment of new technology


Are you our next Retail Technology Support?
  • You have 2-3 years of experience in a service desk role with a diploma in an IT related subject or equivalent business experience with appropriate certifications
  • You are able to travel domestically and internationally as needed for new store openings
  • You have excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
  • You have access to a car or reliable transportation and are able to travel to our local stores as required
  • You have the ability to work, as required, after regular business hours and on weekends through an on-call rotation program to support our retail stores
  • You have ability to troubleshoot issues remotely using provided tools and are familiar with remote support applications (ex. TeamViewer, LogMeIn)
  • You have a strong understanding of retail point of sale systems, payment gateways, retail media systems
  • You have a basic understanding of network related technologies and terminologies (switches, routers, etc.)
  • You have a strong knowledge of hardware, OS and network implementation requirements, Microsoft Operating system (Windows Pro 10, 11), Office 365 and other application maintenance and support
  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to effectively explain concepts and processes to end-users
  • Experience with ITIL framework and ITSM methodologies is a plus
  • You have the ability to create basic deployment project plans, track progress and complex deployment projects through to completion
  • You consistently and properly document new processes and update existing documentation
  • You are open and able to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 support
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

$59,000 - $74,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $59,000 - $74,000 CAD at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. 

Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
