Retail Real Estate Leasing Manager North America

The Retail Real Estate Leasing Manager plays an essential role in managing a multi region area within the US and Canada, in order to drive execution of the Lush real estate strategy. The ideal candidate will play an integral role on Lush's Real Estate team; partnering in the continued development of process and strategy in addition to managing, negotiating and executing transactions for store renewals, relocations, expansions and new opportunities. This person is passionate about providing unique customer experience that elevates the brand and excels at interpersonal relationships.

Your core RESPONSIBILITIES will include:

  • Conduct and manage the real estate process from market and site selection through lease negotiations and post-opening lease maintenance (renewals, critical dates, etc.) for designated territory/landlord portfolios.
  • Source and qualify new shop opportunities by analyzing pertinent market information to ensure  “quality” of recommended sites
  • Partner in the ongoing development and management of North American real estate strategy
  • Develop and enhance market knowledge with complete familiarization of portfolio positioning 
  • Secure key retail locations by driving timely execution of the plan including working closely with finance/construction/design/legal to ensure delivery of appropriate, financially and operationally compelling real estate transactions
  • Maintain and strengthen landlord relationships to ensure effective portfolio management
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with the team providing routine updates and proactively identifying upcoming deadlines that affect the team.
  • Develop, organize and implement market reviews and tours
  • Maintain and strengthen landlord relationships to ensure effective portfolio management
  • Develop an annual pipeline of projects including new locations, relocations, expansions, renewals, refits, refreshes and execute timely.
  • Provide guidance and support to finance and retail operations with respect to store real estate.
  • Foster and maintain relationships and communicate with a network of industry real estate professionals (i.e. real estate brokers, landlord partners, and counterparts at other retailers) to understand relevant and emerging retail trends and the current state of the industry.
  • Strategically partner with internal stakeholders including Finance, Property team, Construction, Commercial leasing team. 
  • Develop and negotiate contracts to ensure all requirements are met prior to closing
  • Identify financial and business trends within the portfolio and markets and make data- driven presentations utilizing analytical tools (data such as co-tenants, center type and size, demographics, etc.)

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Seasoned real estate professional with at least 5 years experience in real estate either within the retail industry or with tenant representation firm (Brokerage/Consulting)
  • Strong industry contacts and excellent relationships with retail developers
  • Possess knowledge of multiple real estate markets in the US and Canada
  • Ability to be solution oriented, while supporting Lush values
  • Outstanding experience creating and finalizing landlord negotiation 
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Confidence in dealing with people (internal and external) and resolving issues diplomatically
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to tell a story through data
  • Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Ability to see the larger global picture and take initiative on projects
  • Ability to travel across Canada and US regularly 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or similar preferred.
