Company Description

Founded in 2013, Tidepool is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to making diabetes data more accessible, actionable, and meaningful for people with diabetes, their care teams, and researchers. Tidepool Loop is a project to build and support an FDA-regulated version of Loop, to be available in the iOS App Store, intended to work with commercially available insulin pumps and CGMs. Tidepool Loop is not currently available for use.



Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll be part of an innovative, passionate, and detail-oriented quality assurance team that works closely with design, product, engineering, and support teams to ensure the safety and stability of our products. You’ll actively contribute to a robust and growing regulatory quality system that holds itself to the highest standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Writing and executing manual black box tests for Tidepool software.
  • Maintaining, developing, and executing test cases for our current test repository.
  • Using tools like Figma, Postman, CLI, Sysdiagnose, and GitHub to aid in thorough testing. 
  • Designing test plans and regression test suites for features and/or releases.
  • Collaborating closely with the engineering team to devise and execute new tests and test strategies.
  • Diving deep when problems are found to help identify and document root causes.
  • Collaborating closely with our product, development, and design teams on designing and executing our alpha and beta test programs.
  • Collaborating with fellow QAE to establish and evolve QA processes.
  • Being a representative of QA in sprint plannings, project huddles, and other cross-functional meetings. 

 



Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience doing gray box quality assurance testing with an emphasis on mobile device testing (iOS and Android).
  • Equally comfortable setting up and using Windows and Mac, iOS, and Android.
  • Able to confidently design test cases, write bug reports, and use test case management software to organize and maintain test cases, plans, and executions.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and when each is appropriate to execute such as exploratory testing, regression testing, and smoke testing.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering to understand product requirements, design files, and done criteria in order to assess the overall quality of our products which includes usability, accessibility, and functionality.
  • Experience participating in, and better yet running, alpha and beta programs for pre-released software.
  • Thorough attention to detail and willingness to be diligent in the creation and maintenance of documentation.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Google Docs.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience setting up and using diabetes devices (CGMs, insulin pumps, and blood glucose meters).
  • Experience with XCUI test and CI/CD test automation.
  • Experience with regulatory quality systems, 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485.
  • Experience with accessibility testing and compliance with WCAG 2.1.
