The Role

The Quality Assurance Engineer is an instrumental member of the ServiceNow Center of Excellence team, helping to ensure that a solution meets user needs and that it can be released into the target production environment with minimal deployment issues. The Engineer is responsible for planning and implementing the quality assurance procedures for daily, milestone, and release candidate testing of changes made to internal business system platforms managed by the Information Systems applications team. The Engineer works closely with the entire project team to review functional and non-functional requirements, while keeping a user’s perspective in mind. Activities in this role will include analyzing non-functional requirements and technical designs, translating functional requirements into test cases, identifying defects, and driving them to resolution.

What You’ll Do

  • Determine test objectives and standards by studying software requirements, writing test cycle plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Meet test objectives by determining testing methods, cycles, phases, and conditions; set up testing environment and equipment
  • Identify software capability and reliability by conducting functional, system, and performance tests
  • Resolve testing problems by modifying testing methods during tests; conferring with management to revise test objectives and standards
  • Report test outcomes by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, and displaying data; recommend software changes
  • Maintain test environment by developing test environment and enforcing/complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Develop, communicate, and implement QA strategies to ensure testing coverage throughout a project
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders and business users to understand use cases and requirements, to better advocate for business users

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ Years of experience using and/or supporting users on SaaS cloud platforms, preferably ServiceNow
  • 1+ Years of experience using JIRA, or other Agile work item tracking system
  • Some experience with automated testing, developing standards, reporting research results, software debugging and software testing, and Software Quality Assurance Process
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation/visual communication skills

Nice To Have

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a business or IT related discipline or equivalent professional experience in a software development environment or operational support role
  • A clear understanding of platform managed applications & database systems
  • Experience working in an org with at least 100 users in either an admin or developer capacity
