Equis is a set of organizations (including Equis Research, Equis Institute, and EquisLabs) working to create a better understanding of Latinos, innovate new approaches to reach and engage them, and invest in the leadership and infrastructure for long-term change and increased engagement. 

Since 2019, we have served as a hub for Latino research and innovation, leaning into the complexities of Latino voters in the United States, ensuring they get the sophistication of treatment and level of attention that matches their critical role in the electorate. Equis is also committed to developing Latino leaders across the progressive space, serving as a convener of organizations and individuals leading Hispanic-focused programs. The scope of our work is designed to engage Latinos in multiple arenas because we believe that this moment requires a complete rethinking of how we engage Latinos. 

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Narrative, Equis is seeking a Program Coordinator to play a pivotal role in the operational success of our Story and Front Page initiatives at Equis Institute. As an integral member of our team, you will coordinate and manage the day-to-day activities of these programs, including managing administrative tasks, organizing meetings and events, tracking program and project milestones, and facilitating effective communication between all stakeholders to ensure initiatives are executed seamlessly.

The ideal candidate should be organized, proactive, and have excellent communication skills. Additionally, the role demands a good understanding of project management and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Program Coordination: Manage the scheduling, resources, and operational aspects of the Story and Front Page initiatives, ensuring all program activities align with our strategic goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between various departments, external partners, and stakeholders, facilitating communication and synergies across initiatives.
  • Project Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly track project progress, providing detailed updates to management and key stakeholders, and addressing any emerging challenges.
  • Event and Meeting Management: Coordinate and oversee program-related events, workshops, and meetings, ensuring they are executed smoothly and effectively.
  • Administrative Excellence: Handle administrative tasks associated with program management, including record-keeping, budget oversight, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Respond to inquiries and support program participants and partners, ensuring a high level of engagement and satisfaction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-3 years of relevant, full-time experience.
  • Experience working in mission-driven or community-focused organizations.
  • Outstanding collaboration skills with diverse audience groups 
  • Demonstrated history of proactive attitude and a high degree of self-direction
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of relevant experience,
  • Creative problem-solving skills, proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • "Get stuff done" attitude, with a commitment to driving impactful narrative change.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
  • The ability to communicate with colleagues, partners, and clients via phone, video call, and email

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Equis is a national remote office environment with team members located across all continental U.S. time zones. Candidates should be prepared to either work from home or a location of their choosing that is located within the continental United States.  Equis has implemented a pro vaccination policy, subject to exemptions. Candidates must be willing to follow the established policy to prevent and limit the exposure of COVID-19.

This position requires the ability to work core hours Monday through Friday in your local time. This position will require occasional nights and weekend work and some in-person attendance for all-staff or department-level events. This position requires the ability to travel which may encompass all or part of the work day. Travel may involve transportation via airplane, car travel, or train, for extended periods. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a fully remote (USA only), full-time position, Exempt with occasional domestic travel) and a competitive salary range of $65,000-$90,000/year. This salary range represents a good-faith estimate of what Equis may pay for this position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as budget availability and commensurate with the selected candidates' experience. This position is currently funded through 2025.
