Professional Services Resource Manager

The Resource Manager will plan and establish PS resource schedules to meet Professional Services and customer demands. You will develop engagement resourcing and start schedules of engagements observing sales forecast, resource capacities, resource skills, and our priorities.

You will assign engagements based on priorities, skills and availability of different resource/engagement types. You will work with Professional Services leaders to manage completion schedules via variance methodologies.

We are looking for someone with influence and expertise in consulting workforce management. This requires someone with a unique blend of proficiency in technology-based solutions, people management skills, and communication ability.

You will report to our Senior Director of Professional Services.

You Will:

  • Assign professional services employees to specific client engagement projects with a goal of effectively balancing resource utilization needs with planning targets, skills allocation, actual utilization and staffing levels. 
  • Manage the tactical and strategic resource plan for an offering or service line. 
  • Implements workforce planning and sales support with the overall business plan. 
  • May contribute to strategic planning and large-scale operational deployment. 
  • Work with the Consulting and Solution Services management teams to identify the type of technical and business resources needed, assembling teams that are qualified to perform the work and financially aligned with project budget and schedule plans. 
  • Implements plans for resource redeployment or retraining with Consulting, Solution Services and Human Resources management, as needed.
  • Maintain and work with PS Leadership to manage resources.
  • Maintain strong knowledge in the resource management discipline.
  • Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may lead activities of other personnel.
  • Applies defined techniques and contributes to analysis and problem solving. 
  • Evaluate prioritization requests from Sales Leadership and communicate impact and opportunity costs.
  • Develop, recommend and implement process and systems improvements to resolve issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You Have:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of scheduling experience
  • The ability to apply professional knowledge, Professional Services policies and procedures to resolve issues.
  • The ability to work independently on day-to-day work and new assignments.
  • The ability to build and maintain productive working relationships internally within Smartsheet and externally with Professional Services partners.
  • A drive for efficient operations management
