Principal Product Manager

Our mission is to build a product so compelling that small business owners would be crazy to go anywhere else to get the financing they need to grow and thrive. As a customer-centric company, our goal is to improve real world outcomes for our small business customers, helping them achieve their dreams.

Building a small business is hard. Most businesses fail due to a lack of financing–specifically, a lack of financing options. Nav helps small business owners both understand and improve their financing profile, so that they can navigate business challenges to get the financing they need. Nav works with a variety of lenders to provide capital and has the most powerful membership for small businesses to build business credit, manage cash, and grow their business.

Your purpose is to grow Nav’s membership offering–Nav Prime. It’s the only membership that helps small business owners accelerate their path to better funding options. It includes one of the most innovative small business products on the market with more incoming.

As the Product Lead for our Prime Memberships team, you’ll be asked to establish a comprehensive strategy for the business area. You’ll be working cross functionally to develop a company-wide vision and lead a talented cross functional team to make it reality.

YOU WILL:

  • Drive the product vision and strategy of your product area, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, and category leaders to create exceptional customer experiences that meet business objectives.
  • Lead the product development process from ideation to launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and prioritize features that meet customer needs and business goals
  • Partner with marketing to create go-to-market strategies and launch plans, and drive user acquisition and engagement in your product experience.
  • Continuously analyze product performance and customer feedback to optimize product features and drive growth
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor products to ensure our products remain innovative and competitive.
  • Identify new opportunities and areas for innovation to improve our products and services.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors to ensure Nav's design standards are met and exceeded.
  • Mentor and develop others in the product team, ensuring a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
  • Partnering with user research  to understand the customer,  identify user needs, preferences, and pain points, and using those insights to inform product decisions.
  • Understand the fintech landscape, including credit bureaus, neobanks, payments, lending, and financial technology, and applying that knowledge to design and product decisions.
  • Ensuring that Nav's product and user experience comply with relevant regulatory requirements.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • An authentic leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias towards revenue producing innovation
  • You have deep experience and understanding in developing high-growth consumer-centric products, services, and platforms and teams
  • You have an  understanding of how the intersection of product, data, and customer experience drives value
  • Your passion for financial technology and a desire to build engaging, intuitive and seamless solutions for small business owners.
  • You are excited about building great products that delight customers and meaningfully add value to their lives.
  • You run your product like a business. With a clear product vision, you drive organizational focus and alignment on intent, resources, and prioritization to deliver excellent products. You’re at your best when empowered to drive decisions with input from top to bottom, but the freedom to set the path.
  • You foster collaboration across various roles in the product, from engineering to marketing to compliance. As the leader of the product, you remove roadblocks, lead all product initiatives, and oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to planning and execution.
  • You have an innate intellectual curiosity to understand the “why” behind how users are using the product and teach others to have the same. You ask the right questions and dig into the data in an effort to deeply understand what the user needs and identify the problems worth solving. You then build a strategy to align those problems with business value.
  • You have experience leading products in fintech, with a deep understanding of the industry, including credit bureaus, neobanks, card issuance, payments, lending, and financial technology.
  • You have demonstrated success in building and launching innovative and effective products that have gained strong market adoption and retention.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with ease, and possess the ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have strong use of storytelling skills to bring people from diverse perspectives and levels in the organization to see what you see and drive progress and results.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis, A/B testing, and user research.

Inclusion at Nav:

At Nav, we celebrate what makes our employees unique because the businesses we serve are progressively diverse and distinctly original. Navericks are diverse, side hustlers, immigrants, veterans, queer, and we push generational boundaries. We are college dropouts, PhDs, special needs parents, allies, pet owners and community leaders. Navericks are human. We are committed to upholding a safe, supportive environment where everyone matters. We are committed to making a better future for all of us. We have created a workplace where people of all backgrounds can express their identities authentically. To put it simply, we want you to be proud to be you.

Our Compensation Philosophy is simple but powerful:

At Nav, we are transparent about our total rewards, including pay, across all levels and roles. We believe great, enduring relationships are grounded in trust and transparency. Compensation shouldn’t be a distraction, and employees should understand how pay and career advancement decisions are made. Providing equal pay for equal work is table stakes for being a great place to work. Gender and ethnic inequity should only be something that our children read about in history books. We believe providing Navericks with company ownership, competitive pay, and a range of meaningful benefits is the start of creating a culture where people want to give the best they’ve got — not because they’re simply making money, but because they’ve fallen in love with our vision, mission, values, and team.

During the interview process, your recruiter will be explaining how our rubrics work across all of our total rewards (base, equity, bonus, perks, and benefit) offerings . The base salary for this role is targeted between $180K - $210K per year. Final offer amount is determined by your proficiencies within this level.

Our impact on you:

Competitive Pay. Company Ownership. Unlimited Vacation. Benefits Day One. 6 Weeks Paid Parental Leave. Work From Anywhere (yes we were distributed before it was cool). Flexible Work Arrangements. Free Telehealth and Telemental Health For All Employees. Employee Networking and Events. Community Network Groups (women’s, PRIDE, culture). Meaningful Perks and Rewards. Learning and Development Opportunities. Pet Insurance.

A Naverick’s DNA:

We look at the future and say “why not”; we see possibilities where others see problems or routines. We show the way ahead and are committed to achieving ambitious goals.

We practice straight talk and listen generously to each other with empathy. We value different opinions and point of views. We ensure that we connect outside as well as inside to learn from others and inspire each other.

We hold ourselves accountable for delivering results. We choose to not to be a victim of circumstance. We make decisions & take responsibility so that we can act & support each other, rather than adopting defensive, and “finger pointing” behaviors.

As leaders we motivate & engage our teams to undertake beyond what they originally thought possible, by developing our teams & creating the conditions for people to grow and empower themselves through enabling & coaching.
