Principal Data Engineer (m/f/x)

Founded in 2020, QuoIntelligence is Europe´s fastest growing startup in the field of Cyber Threat Intelligence. Headquartered in Germany, and incorporated in the United States, Italy and Spain, we are committed to informing decision makers of current and prospected cyber and geopolitical threats by providing Finished Intelligence, tailor-made for their organization.

Our Technology Department works towards the development of applications which improve existing Threat Intelligence processes. As a key part of the department, the Data Collection team is focused on building our high performance data collection platform to satisfy our customers' intelligence requirements.

Our ca. 20 technology colleagues are distributed across Germany, Italy, and Spain.

• Continuously research how to satisfy Intelligence Requirements by looking at the best data sources and how to ingest them. 

• Drive data collection, parsing and extraction including implementations and team efforts 

• Maintain proper documentation about the collection processes. 

• Define data validation QA processes and implement them. 

• Analyze the collected data to ensure proper classification and processing. 

• Define and maintain KPIs to which degree our Information Collection Plans are satisfied. 

• Research, define and improve data acquisition and processing. 

• Forecast and manage the budget needed for the data acquisition strategy 

• Maintain, improve and operate our scalable high performance data collection platform. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring the system can handle increasing data volume and user load. 

• Monitor system performance and proactively optimize data collection processes to ensure high availability, reliability, and efficiency. 

• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of our data collection platform.

• Engineer scalable data storage and retrieval solutions matching requirements of our customers. 

• Minimum of 7 years experience in Data Collection Management and Data Science.  

•  Masters degree in Data Science/Engineering or additional 4 years equivalent experience. 

•  Proficiency in Python or Golang. 

•  Strong Linux/Unix experience and solid understanding of distributed systems and parallel processing. 

•  Experience in system design for microservice architectures and data flow pipelines. 

•  Experience with SQL/NOSQL databases, preferably including Elasticsearch. 

•  Comfortable working in containerized and virtualized environments. 

•  Experience in remote, multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team collaboration. 

•  Customer-first mentality with strong communication skills and fluency in English. 

• Excellent knowledge of IT security principles.      

• Current holder of EU Passport or permanent visa for Spain

What's the pay like?

For this job and country, the band we have set starts at 72,000€ TTC. This is:

• Base Salary: 59,565€ gross annual salary
• Bonus: 15% of annual gross base salary
• Benefits: 3,500€ for Year1 as outlined below.

What's the recruitment process like?

• You apply and fill a couple of screening questions.
• We review all applications.
• We invite the top 25% to an online assessment via Vervoe and interview with our People Team via MS Teams.
• We schedule the top 4-5 candidates with our VP Engineering and a couple will meet our CEO / CTO for final interviews.
