As a People Services Lead at LI, you will oversee all aspects of the People Services function including talent and people management. You will be a passionate, values-driven leader dedicated to making Livestock Information an exceptional workplace for our current employees and the new talent we aim to attract..

As a leader, you will play a critical role in maintaining our positive momentum by retaining our talented workforce and attracting the right individuals to join our team. You will navigate compliance requirements with ease, making data-driven decisions to support our business objectives. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor and inspire others through your leadership. Your presence on the senior leadership team will ensure your valuable insights are heard, while your ability to initiate change and drive new initiatives makes you a trusted advisor.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to the HR Assistants and Talent Specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the people team and beyond
  • Work with the leadership team to identify high-potential employees and provide development opportunities
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen the company culture, values and employee engagement and actively track the relevant metrics to have a real time pulse check on where we are today
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive culture change and alignment with our company mission and strategy
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations
  • Lead with collaboration and ensure you work with other departments to support cross functional initiatives
  • Ensure HR policies and practices are up-to-date, compliant and aligned with our company values
  • Oversee legal and ethical aspects of our operations and advise on ways to mitigate risk
  • Advise, design and lead on our performance management programs and drive growth, development and accountability
  • Oversee organisational design, restructuring and change management efforts to optimise workforce efficiency and effectiveness
  • Utilise HR analytics to provide data driven insights that inform business decisions and people strategies
  • Monitor key metrics and propose improvements based on the data
  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives and create an equitable and inclusive environment
  • Ensure fair and unbiased practices throughout the employee life cycle
  • Serve as an active member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic discussions and decision making
  • Be an advocate for people perspectives, ensuring that people related matters are considered in overall strategy discussions
  • Develop and execute talent acquisition and retention strategies to ensure we have consistently top-tier talent
  • Lead change management efforts and initiatives and be comfortable driving change across the organisation with positivity which will drive engagement
  • Be comfortable hosting, leading and developing training, development, ways of working, D&I and culture workshops
  • Play an active role in our company collaboration days through presentations, workshops and activities
  • Manage the HR budget, resources and utilisation of tools effectively
  • Represent the company’s interests and values externally and participate in industry events and foster positive relationships and external partnerships.

Requirements

The skills required for this role are:

  • Previous experience in leading a people services team in a small – medium sized business with demonstrable passion for driving a people first culture.
  • Ability to align HR initiatives with business strategies as well as foresee trends and adapt your approach accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and confidence in your ability to influence, engage and gain buy-in from senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in HR analytics and confident in your ability to draw actionable insights from data and consistently use data to drive decision-making and approach to new initiatives.
  • Experience of driving employee engagement and designing initiatives which foster engagement, collaboration and satisfaction.
  • Capable of coaching and mentoring managers to enhance their skills and approach.
  • Deep understanding of diversity and inclusion principles with examples of how you have implemented policies and practices aligning to those.
  • Ability to contribute to strategic discussions navigate change and tailor your advice accordingly.
  • Proficient in forecasting talent needs and designing strategies to address skills gaps and changing business demands. Along with expertise in talent acquisition, development and retention strategies

Qualifications

You will hold a Level 7 CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) qualification.
