Summary:

Working on a small team, you will help to support and execute the company's payroll operations for approximately 1500 exempt and 300 non-exempt employees. We are looking for a candidate to join as a contractor with hopes of moving into a full-time position.  Our company operates with ethics and confidentiality as a top value as well as this role requiring precision and efficiency. You will ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide exceptional support to our employees. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This a remote opportunity. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including salary, hourly, and commission-based staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and other compensation elements.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in salaries, benefits, and tax withholdings.
  • Verify and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations and company policies.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll deductions promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to streamline payroll processes and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.
  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency working with ADP Workforce Now) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of payroll processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

 

Contract Details:

  • This is a contract to hire position
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
