Our product waipu.tv provides IPTV Live Streaming: Free TV, Pay TV, NewTV, Video-on-demand, recordings, restart, and timeshift – all within a single app on a wide range of devices: smartphones, tablets and TVs (FireTV, Apple TV, Smart TVs and our own waipu.tv stick).

As Exaring AG we operate an entire platform and handle the complete process: from encoding the video signals to delivering streams to our 1 Million + customers across Germany.

The Position

You are part of our DevOps team Infrastructure / Network. You operate our Germany-wide backbone with own ASN and Internet peerings with the German and European access networks in the TBit/s range. You ensure the stable and performant operation of our network platforms (wide area traffic, datacenter, multicast ingest) for an excellent IPTV operation and further develop the automation. You support the team with network/BGP on the GNU/Linux hosts and with the development of our own CDN playout system.

Your tasks

• Operation of IP networks based on Juniper (PTX-Series) and GNU/Linux hosts

• ISP IP peering "Internet-scale" with BGP

• Architecture of the software landscape required for operation

• Provision of IP streaming network in the TBit/s range with low latency, no jitter and excellent availability

• Operation and further development of the fully automated platform

• Monitoring (SLA) of the various network parameters
  

• Very good knowledge of Juniper (or comparable) in operation and on the CLI

• Very good knowledge of ISP/Internet routing environment

• Fluent in IS-IS and BGP

• Practical experience with IPv6

• Very good in debugging network and performance problems

• Very good coding skills in Golang or similar

• Very good handling of shell and script languages

• Experience with DevOps tools, processes and their culture

• High degree of initiative and solution orientation

• Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken

• Several years of experience in the service provider environment

• Test-driven development and experience with modern software architectures

• Experience in managing field service and carrier partners

• Experience with Cloud/AWS

• Experience with multicast and video streaming

• Ownership, responsibility and a strong team that learns from and with each other

• For our own CDN, we operate a modern infrastructure with a Germany-wide backbone, our own servers/appliances in various data centers and a large environment in AWS.

• Our modern tool environment supports us in the background with, among others, a Gitlab CI/CD environment with Continuous Deployment / Delivery, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Golang - agile changes, also in the network

• Team internally driven development in Golang for infrastructure, network and our CDN, including at https://github.com/exaring
