Responsibilities

The Modernization Technical Lead is a Full Stack engineer or hands on architect that will play a key role in designing and developing modernization solutions in transforming Mainframe based systems to Amazon Web Services. The successful candidate will leverage broad knowledge of hardware, software, data and cloud technology to architect technical solutions from business requirements and collaborate with technical staff and stakeholders to provide technical decision input and ensure adherence to security and industry cloud best practices. Demonstrated experience as a Senior Java Developer and designing Java and API based solutions on AWS is crucial for this role.

What you'll do:

• Partner with customer technical leads and product owners to design robust solutions that provide business value as application components are modernized.
• Effectively collaborate with agile teams in the delivery of software components to includes participation in sprint ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, scrum meetings and retrospectives
• Establish and monitor technical team adherence to modern development best practices to include cloud and Java application architectures, coding standards, automated testing, CI/CD, release and production operation standards leveraging a an agile DevOps mindset.
• Provide requirements analysis, software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of custom solutions.
• Document solutions and specifications in Confluence, create and complete user stories via Jira, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders via Slack.
• Collaborate with Operations and Site Reliability Engineering team to leverage available platforms, infrastructure as code templates, and to continuously optimize application performance.
• Perform peer reviews of application and API designs, application code, code quality, and test coverage.
• Serve as mentor to less senior developers and technical staff.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 16 years Software Development Experience with BS/BA; Minimum of 14 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 10 years with Ph.D.
• at least 8 years of developing Java based applications and APIs.
• 8 years developing software applications and APIs on AWS.
• 6 years of experience in designing, implementing and consuming CI/CD Pipelines using tools. such as Jenkins, Maven, Groovy, Ansible, SonarQube or similar toolsets.
• Minimum certifications of AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Solution Architect - Associate.
• Experience with program languages and technologies including Groovy, Python, Bash, Go, Markdown, XML, JSON, SQL, ReactJS, CSS, XHTML
• Experience in building and using reusable application, coding, and testing frameworks.
• Experience with AWS Database such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
• Experience using GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Jira, Confluence, TestRail
• Experience building, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications while maintaining 24/7 availability.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
