Mobile Engineer (Flutter)

Join our team of expert Flutter engineers building the next generation of secure, well-documented, and beautiful consumer applications. In this role, you'll help shape the future of our Flutter component library by iterating on existing components to match designs from our talented design team.

You'll develop internal solutions that enable additional engineering teams to build complex views and workflows. Strong documentation skills are key, as your components will be used across the organization. We're looking for engineers who can thrive in a regulated environment and approach problems with patience and care.

In a typical day, you may:

• Follow agile practices to plan, groom and size development tasks
• Implement new design systems from the ground up using Flutter best practices
• Test components across platforms from mobile to web
• Research and document findings to influence stakeholders
• Write tests and report results clearly
• Build custom plugins to integrate native SDKs
• Tackle platform differences across mobile and web
• Improve and expand our component library
• Educate others through specifications and video tutorials
• Evaluate and upgrade Flutter versions
• Address security issues thoroughly and quickly

Skills

• Ability to take ownership of work items and help cultivate new ones with a Product-first mindset*
• Domain-driven design experience within distributed systems*
• GraphQL & REST API concepts and implementation patterns
• Cloud-native / managed services exposure
• Experience with event-driven system architectures

About you:

We are looking for an experienced candidate who’s ready for a senior role. A bachelor's or master’s degree is not enough. You must have a proven record of creating and releasing commercial iOS and Android applications for public and private use.

There is a lot to be responsible for and own. You will not know the answers to everything so it is critical that you have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and that you understand how these skills help you to stay resourceful and take initiative. That passion you have for learning new things has paid dividends in the past.

This is a remote job. Our team spans several timezones and knowing how to close loops without losing days in between is easier because your level of organization helps those around you stay close. So if you live on the West Coast you are happy to work early hours in order to build strong bonds with those in other regions.
