Mid Market Account Manager

MaintainX is the world-leading mobile-first workflow management platform for industrial and frontline workers. We are a modern IoT enabled cloud-based tool for maintenance, safety, and operations on equipment and facilities. MaintainX powers operational excellence for 6,000+ businesses including Univar, Quikrete, ABInBev, Duracell, Marriott, and McDonald’s.

We've raised $104 million in venture capital following a recent Series C funding round led by Bain Capital Ventures, Bessemer Ventures, August Capital, Amity Ventures, Ridge Ventures as well as CEO’s from GE, Twilio, Toast and PagerDuty.

We're currently looking for an experienced Account Manager based in Montreal, Canada or Raleigh, North Carolina to join our dynamic sales team. You would play a crucial role in driving sales growth by effectively engaging and managing relationships with customers in the mid-market segment. You will bring your expertise in navigating larger deals and have a proven track record of success in expanding client accounts.

This is a key role within the organization, as MaintainX has seen (and will continue to see) triple-digit, year-over-year growth; thus, creating a need for world-class client care and management.

The ideal mid-market Account Manager will be fanatical about customer success and growth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to be a part of both client retention and expansion. This is a difference-making, meaningful, high-responsibility role, and we expect the rightcandidate to be someone who thinks outside the box, thrives under pressure, and is laser-focused on the client.

What you’ll do:

  • Ownership - You will own a “book of business” from post-sale handoff through renewal and expansion. You would use your  B2B sales or account management experience to effectively engage and build relationships with mid-market customers. Know your clients like family and take care of them as such.
  • Expansion - Happy clients tend to expand. You will leverage your experience in navigating larger deals to identify and capitalize on expansion opportunities within existing accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term business partnerships.
  • Prospecting - You will take a proactive approach in identifying customer needs and providing innovative solutions, going above and beyond to deliver exceptional service and exceed customer expectations.
  • Presentation - You will conduct quarterly business reviews to assess client satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and present product demonstrations that showcase our offerings in a compelling and tailored manner and the value and impact of our solutions.
  • Organization - You will need to manage multiple tasks simultaneously such as client requests, demos, proposals, follow-ups, etc. It’s imperative that you stay organized and nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Systems – We’re a tech company, so we provide you with great technology to do your job. You will become a master of using systems like Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, and others.
  • Forecast - You will accurately manage your sales pipeline and forecast monthly and quarterly expansion opportunities with +/- 15% accuracy.
  • Document - Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of customer interactions, deals, and progress.
  • Startup Mentality – You will embrace the entrepreneurial, grind-it-out mentality of building something new.

About you:

  • A minimum of 4 years of sales experience, with a significant portion in account management or a similar role within the midmarket segment.
  • Demonstrated success in expanding client accounts and driving revenue growth in a B2B sales environment.
  • Proficiency in navigating larger deals, understanding complex sales cycles, and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate data-driven insights to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to conduct engaging product demonstrations and lead impactful quarterly business reviews.
  • Adaptability and comfort in a fast-paced, rapidly changing sales environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all documentation and deal management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • A positive, passionate, and creative mindset, combined with high-character qualities that align with our company values.
  • An open and hungry mind, always willing to improve through coaching and learn about our customers’ industries
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in a relevant field.

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience with modern sales tech stacks: Salesforce, Salesloft, DiscoverOrg, etc.
  • Experience with startups and entrepreneurial organizations.
  • Experience working in CMMS or facility operations software.
  • Documented success in working in a remote setting.

What’s in it for you:

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity opportunities.
  • Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) / RRSP enrolment program.
  • Take what you need PTO.
  • A Work Culture where:
    • You’ll work alongside folks across the globe that reflect the MaintainX values, Smart Humble Optimist
    • We believe in meritocracy, where ideas and effort are publicly celebrated
