Medical Data Entry Operator

 We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Data Entry Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately inputting and maintaining patient information, medical records, and other healthcare data. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in data entry software, and adherence to privacy regulations such as HIPAA.


  1. Input and update patient demographic information into electronic health records (EHR) systems or databases accurately and efficiently.
  2. Enter medical diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and other pertinent information into the appropriate fields in the system.
  3. Verify the accuracy of entered data by reviewing and comparing it to source documents or patient records.
  4. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive medical and personal information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  5. Scan and upload paper documents or medical records into electronic databases as needed.
  6. Assist with the organization and management of electronic and paper filing systems.
  7. Respond promptly to data entry requests from healthcare providers, administrators, or other staff members.
  8. Collaborate with medical staff and administrative personnel to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
  9. Perform regular quality checks to identify and correct data entry errors or discrepancies.
  10. Follow established procedures and protocols for data entry and record-keeping to ensure consistency and accuracy.


  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or coursework in medical office administration or data entry is preferred.
  2. Proven experience in data entry, preferably in a healthcare or medical setting.
  3. Proficiency in using data entry software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  4. Excellent typing speed and accuracy, with a keen eye for detail.
  5. Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnoses, and procedures is advantageous.
  6. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  8. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  9. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations.
  10. Willingness to adapt to new software or technologies and participate in ongoing training as needed.
