The Opportunity
We’re seeking a talented and motivated Legal Associate to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in supporting our legal operations, with a focus on compliance, contract management, and providing legal coverage for our Northern Hemisphere team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Know Your Business (KYB) and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations in the crypto industry
- Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), service agreements, and commercial contracts
- Provide legal support and coverage for our Northern Hemisphere team, addressing time-sensitive matters across different time zones
- Provide advice on crypto-related regulations and emerging legal issues in the digital asset space
- Assist in developing and implementing internal legal policies and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and technology, to address legal concerns and mitigate risks
- Monitor and analyse regulatory developments in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry
- Support the company's compliance efforts with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulations
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Law degree from a reputable institution
- 2-5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably gained in a multi-national organisation, trading, or financial services sectors
- Experience with KYC/KYB processes and compliance requirements in the financial services industry
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good initiative and personal resilience to manage the ups and downs of fast paced deal teams
- Flexibility to occasionally work non-standard hours to provide coverage for the Northern Hemisphere team
- Understanding of blockchain technology, digital assets, and the regulatory landscape surrounding cryptocurrencies is highly desirable
