CodePath is a national non-profit that is reprogramming higher education to create the most diverse generation of software engineers, CTOs, and founders. We deliver industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. Our students train with senior engineers, intern at top companies, and rise together to become the tech leaders of tomorrow. As of 2023, we've served 10,000 students a year nationwide, and we plan to scale up to ~100,000 students a year by 2028.
Founded in 2017, CodePath has taught over 26,000 students and delivered courses across over 110 universities. About the Role
Location: Remote, United States

Reporting to: Director of Product Engineering
Compensation: $192,500-$225,000 per year
We’re at a pivotal moment in our growth as an organization. Having proven the value of our work to funders over the past seven years, we’re laying out the roadmap for the next era. We’re redesigning our entire UI, building out a data infrastructure to help us make better decisions more quickly, and integrating artificial intelligence into our student and instructor experience. 2024 marks a pivotal year of innovation at CodePath, and we're seeking an exceptional product leader to drive these initiatives within our dynamic, skilled, and small expanding engineering team.
As the Lead Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product strategy and execution. You will collaborate closely with our leadership team to build our product roadmap with the company's overarching vision. Additional responsibilities include: gathering requirements, determining key metrics, writing specifications, prioritizing projects, user testing, and partnering with engineering on execution. Experience with ed tech is a plus, and we’d love to talk with candidates with experience in workflow automation or B2B SaaS as well.
This role presents a unique opportunity to not only spearhead feature development, but also define and implement a robust product development process in partnership with our engineering team. We’re a small group of passionate veteran engineers who thrive on autonomy and a connection to the purpose of our work, and we’re eager to work with you on making the greatest impact possible on the lives of our students.
Key Activities
Work closely with executive leadership and act as the driving force to define and execute the organization’s overall product strategy
Gather and prioritize requirements from stakeholders, including students, teachers, and administrators
Establish key metrics to measure product success and drive organizational scalability
Wireframe and design UX for our web-based products
Oversee the design and implementation of AI integrations across multiple platforms
Work with skilled, autonomous, veteran Ruby and Python engineers to design and develop innovative learning products
Stay up to date on AI and other technical developments that can be used to improve our products
Play a key role in hiring and mentoring new members of the engineering and product teams
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in product management with a track record of successfully launching and iterating on complex products
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
Past experience in making key strategic decisions that affect the business as a whole
Proven leadership capabilities, demonstrating the ability to inspire and mentor cross-functional teams
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Passion for education and technology
